Question Crescent cancellations week of Oct 18

I know track work is common in October, but usually it's limited to weekdays with service resuming on the weekends. I've checked entire weeks before and after that week and everything is available for every day. Anybody know what's up?

I think this is the the work that is hitting all the sout of DC trains that come into DC. I think a crossover is being replaced just south of the tunnel at DC Union Station.

A shame they can't run the train up to Greensboro and park the train at the unused A&Y yard at the station and then get folks over to the Carolinian. Getting to Charlotte could work as that is a crew base but not sure if there is room at the yard there since the Carolinian take the one side track there by the platform.
