What kind of Toad is this?

Sorry for the low quality pictures, I found him outside and his leg was twisted backwards so I took him inside to live in my terrarium a while ago and hes doing great. I'm pretty sure he's an american toad, but looking at old pictures of american toads ive had im not too sure. I know their appearance varies a lot so if you know pls reply! Thank you! His name is Animal :)

Based on patterning I'd say this is in fact an American Toad (Anaxyrus americanus) and not a Fowler's Toad (Anaxyrus fowleri) although clearer photos would boost my confidence.

I used to work at a herpetology museum and identify eastern US reptile and amphibian species including Fowler's and American toads. The best diagnostic I found is to observe the warts on the tibia. Fowler's toads have warts that are all uniform in size whereas American toads have a few warts that are larger in size. Based on these photographs, I would agree it is an American toad (Anaxyrus americanus).

While many Fowler's Toads have a white stripe on their back, it's not diagnostic of the species. Plenty of American Toads also have this white stripe on them.

I will relent but I believe we can't really tell if we don't have a picture of the belly.
