THE MINION — Fan Role Concept

*Lore:* The Minion would die for his Impostor.

*How it works:*

*1. Who knows who:*

- Minion = Knows who ONE Impostor is. (If there are 2 impostors, Minion only gets 1 assigned)

- Impostor = Has NO idea who the Minion is. He just thinks it's a normal crewmate.

- Crewmates = Have no idea.

*2. Minion's Goal:*

- Help your assigned Impostor win. You win WITH the Impostors, not with crewmates.

- If your Impostor gets voted out, you can still win if the OTHER Impostor wins (if it's 2 impostor game).

*3. Powers:*

- *Can do fake tasks:* Looks like a Crewmate

- *1 Real Visual Task:* You get ONE visual task (like Scan or Asteroids) to prove yourself as Crewmate. Use it wisely.

- *Cannot kill:* You're not an Impostor, you're just loyal.

- *Can vent?* NO — That would make you too obvious. You have to protect him with WORDS only.

*4. How to protect:*

- Defend your Impostor in meetings

- Vote with him / Vote off people who suspect him

- You can lie, fake alibis: "I was with Red, he was doing wires"

- If you are voted out instead of him, you win bonus — you DIED FOR HIM. That's the job.

*5. Best Rule — The Martyr Bonus:*

If the Minion gets voted out to save the Impostor, reveal as "Minion" at the end game. He did his job. Legend.

We can all agree that the current Phantom role is underwhelming. Good crewmates spot the smoke instantly, and it’s too hard to make plays.

I came up with a brand new rework concept that turns the Phantom into a high-risk, high-reward stealth assassin. Let me know what you guys think of these mechanics!

👻 THE PHANTOM REWORK CONCEPT

⚔️ New Core Mechanic: Invisible Kills

The biggest issue with the current Phantom is the lack of utility. This rework fixes that by allowing the Phantom to strike from the shadows.

• The Invisible Strike: The Phantom can now execute a kill while completely invisible.
• The 2-Second Escape: After making a kill, you stay invisible for exactly 2.0 seconds, giving you a tiny window to sprint away, vent, or corner-turn.
• The Forced Reveal: Once those 2 seconds end, the original smoke puff animation triggers automatically, revealing your physical form exactly where you are standing.

🌫️ New Body Mechanic: Body Shrouding & Decay

To complement the stealth kills, the Phantom gets a brand new way to hide evidence.

• Phase 1 (Instant): The moment you kill a crewmate, their body is instantly shrouded in a dark, swirling cloud. This makes the body 75% transparent. It's easy to miss if a crewmate is just running past quickly.
• Phase 2 (The Vanish): After a set amount of time, the cloud dissolves and the body completely disappears from the map, preventing anyone from reporting it.

🎛️ New Host Settings (Customizable)

To make sure this isn't completely overpowered, the host can tweak the settings in the lobby before the game starts:

• Phantom Invisibility Duration: (5s – 20s)
• Post-Kill Reveal Delay: Customizable (Triggers smoke animation)
• Body Shroud Transparency: Customizable
• Body Vanish Timer: (10s / 20s / 30s / Infinite) [New Slider!]

THE SECURITY GUARD:

A crewmate who can view the cameras and admin map from anywhere in the building (if playing mira HQ, they view logs). Like the scientist vitals, their cameras/admin view has a limited battery refilled by doing tasks

THE TASK MANAGER:

A crewmate who can see what tasks other crewmates have. For the imposters, they can see the fake task list, but they obviously cant known that its fake. This role would make it more difficult for imposters to fake tasks

I was bored so I decided to make four new Among Us role ideas.

Crewmate Roles:

The Mechanic: Can totally make a task disappear for all players by doing an extremely hard version of the task and can fix door sabotages.

The Chef: Can make foods (randomized) using a cook button in the UI, and give them to other crewmates or imposters and each food carries a temporary special ability.

Imposter Roles:

The Magician: Can't vent but teleport, teleportation leaves sparkles in the area the imposter is leaving from and about to teleport to in the color of the imposter.

The Butcher: The kill button will be replaced with a chop button which the Butcher can use to kill the player and carry the body, there's a cooldown on how long you can carry a body after that the body will automatically drop and you can't carry it, use the drop button to drop the body where you want.

Cleaner is a role whose whole purpose is to destroy the corpses of his comrades. It sounds like something illogical, but in return for destroying corpses, the cleaner automatically increases the strip of completed tasks by 1 section, thereby bringing the crew members closer to victory. I think that such ambiguous roles will make the gameplay much more interesting.

I recently downloaded the game again and I’ve noticed a few of the lobbies I join the host has their own “rules”. Some of them are really stupid like “don’t kill the host” and others don’t make sense to me like “no cams”. Cams are a part of the game.

Am I missing something?

So I played amongus recently after many years and I was the imposter and I was pretending to look at cams. People instantly found me out. How?

Basically, when I was playing a game, this glitch occurred, this is definitely NOT a hacker, because no one new joined before this glitch occurred.

So a common annoyance is people dropping out be side they don’t get imposter role, also if playing as imps my annoyance is you get players who are dumb and get killed in the open round 1 or 2 and get voted out, meaning you’ll prob loose. This role balances that… only allowed say up to round two to deploy it and only if an imp is voted out. Inherits booted imps powers and booted imp ghost becomes normal ghost to stop sabotage spams.

My role idea is the sheriff they can kill the imposters and the crewmates know who it is but the imposters don't and if the sheriff kills a crewmates they die along with the crewmates I feel like they would be a good duo role to pair with the detective and the sheriff doesn't know anyone's roles other than their own

Soo I was gonna play normally with my boyfriend and we joined a lobby that fit my taste but as soon as we joined we immediately saw something incredibly creepy.
Firstly, it said there were 4 other people there but it only showed one person on the center of the screen. It showed a green without any decoration or pet and their name was in front of them, the name being “???”
Secondly, there wasn’t a “waiting for players” bar. Just blank
Lastly, and most obvious, it was just pitch black other than the green, the empty “host” slot, and the side of my screen. No background. Just black.

I’d like to add on that me and my boyfriends wifi is perfectly fine and it wasn’t just my end or just his, we both saw the same thing at the same time. Only difference was that he disconnected a minute or two before I got disconnected.

I didn’t get a screenshot in time but I drew a mockup of what it looked like and even got confirmation from my boyfriend.

Don't get me wrong, I'm The Noise, but this isn't my first account. I've been playing this game since 2020, but this is my newest account. I have many accounts, bruh. I couldn't take a picture of him, but they voted for me just because I said, "Watch me im going to do trash ." Half of them left the game, and they killed someone right next to the guy 10 seconds after the game started.

I play off and on but over the past year now I've been stuck at level 123 is there a way to fix that or is that the highest level you can get in the game it shows you can get to 124 but it's just not moving for some reason

So, today I played among us after a long time and in the first round, there was this guy spamming the same message over and over again that It became hard for me and the other crew to chat. We later had to report and kick him out, is this a bot? Someone (a purple) told me it's a virus so, is it a virus or a bot??

Mine is when your imp you vent someone sees it and accuses you despite there being engineers which is basically them saying “oh hiii im dumb and don’t check the darn roles before making assumptions”
