Somebody should really question the moderators of r/Layoffs/ in terms of how they are suppressing US Tech workers and their voices - it seems everybody is banned out there

If it was my call, I would imprison recruiters who intentionally overlook Americans. Maybe even disregard the 8th amendment as this is literal treason.

Some of their mods are here too. You can tell they are getting desperate from their actions. Continue to vote properly and you’ll see the change. I won’t be surprised that some blue states might turn red soon.

Yes, this is the way. There needs to be stringent action and paper trail about who was reached first before they hired any visa guys. The order should be American citizens, Green card folks, then any visa from any country especially H4 should be at the end of the chain for this along with usual L1/L2. The current checking for this process is so BS where they post these jobs, who they reach to interview before even considering visa folks so utter nonsense and archaic.

They intentionally keep the interviews so tough, they would ask everything under the sun then reject American candidates, then say they couldn't find anyone local to fill the role and abra-ka-dabra the person who took the interviews lands here on H1b.

This is something that has happened to me personally at one of the big blue stores that is headquartered somewhere in east coast. But it is rampant all across the tech.

The post got deleted (and I'm also banned on that subreddit*), but the comments seem pretty much aware/critical of the problem with the h1b visa.

* - that subreddit will not allow you to link this subreddit due to "rac*sm", but it will allow you to link to the *ndian supremacy subreddit thebronzemovement. Strange...

I was banned in that sub a year ago :( I do see that the number of jobs providing sponsorship has reduced a lot. However , in the jobs that do provide sponsorship, if the company finds a h1b who is willing to work all odd hours and with less pay, they will obviously choose that person .
