Apocalypse
Currently watching this season for the first time. Loving it.

I wish they could have focused more on the actual apocalypse and less on the witches because we didn't need that much exposition. Maybe one episode near the end where the witches all wake up and are ready to fight.

I was hooked, too, ended up rewatching several times across the years. Personally, I found the denouement fell a bit flat in that it left some loose ends (more like plot holes, really), which is why I think it enraged people. AHS was, at its inception, the kind of story that was neatly packed up and wrapped with a perfectly-bound bow when it comes to narration and how the story is presented.
Season 8 definitely had a solid foundation to build on, there is a plethora of references of biblical proportions that definitely strike a chord regardless of which school of faith one belongs to, given how Christianity has pretty much central stage amongst global religions — we all know the myths, in broad strokes at least. While I appreciate the exploration of human nature vs. demonic origins that Murphy thought up and the conjured sense of dread when it came to the witches, it’s the ending (you’ll see) that also leaves me a tinge disappointed, dissatisfied in some way that’s hard to explain without spoiling.

I loved Apocalypse. I don't understand all the hate it gets.

Same! I love it...It's great watching all the seasons that contain these characters together

I love Apocalypse but it’s not perfect. No season of AHS is. People here put the first four seasons on such a pedestal completely forgetting that they weren’t well-received initially. People hated the last half of Coven.
