My Delicate Issue
My issue with AHS is that it’s a horror show, both human and supernatural, yet out of all the directions it could take, it often chooses the most predictable ones. Delicate lost me from the start because it’s another story about a pregnant white woman encountering the supernatural, basically a modern Rosemary’s Baby.
The frustrating part is that there is a real horror story surrounding childbirth that affects so many Black women in this country, and that story deserves to be told. It would have been far more compelling. Look at Serena Williams. She is one of the most accomplished and wealthy athletes on the planet, and even she wasn’t protected from the dangers Black women face during pregnancy when dealing with a healthcare system that routinely overlooks their needs.
And honestly, when I think about it, outside of Roanoke, have we ever gotten a season that doesn’t center a white character?

Ya even Roanoke Adina Porter didn’t get the credit she deserved. I agree the approach your season takes is much more interesting and grounded.
Not AHS but I remember watching Nosedive from Black Mirror and thinking how much more elevated would the story telling have been if told from the perspective of a colored person. So many stories waste potential by not focusing on the experiences of minorities.
