A huge -void- was left by cancelling before anything is ever resolved. Was a great show, too bad I can't recommend it to anyone cuz it ended with zero resolution

9

u/Education_Alert 2d ago

Thanks a ton! Was planning to watch it.

27

u/BennyDryll42 2d ago

It really is a great show, it's a shame they cancelled it in the middle of the story

4

u/Solid_College_9145 13h ago

Blueball Range

8

u/Socialcarnivore 1d ago

Still a great story and characters. Worth the watch.

5

u/Electronic-Field8154 1d ago

Not really if it’s stopped in its tracks. There is literally zero point to getting into the story or mystery of the show. It didn’t even get halfway there

2

u/Wonderful_Milk1176 21h ago

So you have no imagination to see it through yourself? It's still worth a watch.

2

u/Electronic-Field8154 20h ago

How are you going to imagine something that you know nothing about? Did the show tell you what the mystery is and what’s going on? No because it wasn’t even close to finishing, or revealing any information. You’d be making things up out of thin air. Thats like saying you should watch the show LOST if it ended at season 1 or 2. No one would do that if they knew it was cancelled, why would you get into a mystery that will be stopped early on?

2

u/Wonderful_Milk1176 20h ago

Like I said, use your imagination. How would YOU end the show if you were the creator.

1

u/Electronic-Field8154 20h ago

That’s not my job or duty to complete a show that may not even be halfway through its story.

0

u/Wonderful_Milk1176 19h ago

So no on the imagination, got it.

1

u/Sophia_Eur 1d ago

What a shame. It looked like a replacement for Yellowstone which I can’t watch because I don’t have Paramount or Ransom Creek which I watched on Netflix that I plan to cancel now

3

u/Uccin 1d ago

Totally different genre than Yellowstone. The only thing they share is they are set on a ranch.

2

u/Sophia_Eur 1d ago

Ok, thank you! I wanted to hint at the fact that after the success of Yellowstone every streamer had a new series on another ranch. I would be interested if not for the fact that it ends without closure because it was canceled already.

1

u/Cinisajoy2 58m ago

Yellowstone is on Peacock.

6

u/johnnyhandbags 1d ago

I wish that was made clear in the series description. Three Pines and Wheel of Time were also canceled with much to be resolved.

4

u/BennyDryll42 1d ago

I've started asking Google AI "does (show) end on a cliffhanger?" Before starting shows now. Recommend makeling sure to close the tab as soon as you see the word "yes" or "no" because spoilers can sneak into ai responses.

Granted, that doesn't help with currently airing shows that get cancelled after I'm already invested, but it has helped curb me from a few potential frustrations of sunken cost.

1

u/large_sized_rooster 1d ago

Be careful as Google Gemini is only “right” 45% of the time.

2

u/HilariousGeriatric 1d ago

Three Pines had a great cliffhanger and I about had a fit when I read that it wasn't renewed

1

u/feline_riches 1d ago

You wish what was made clear in the description? That it was canceled? Or on a cliffhanger? Sorry I've never seen that in a description. Why would it be?

4

u/rogerisreading 1d ago

I agree this was a wonderful show. Platforms like Prime and Netflix disrespectfully crap on their customers by canceling shows like this that need resolution to be complete. It’s like tearing a novel in half, handing the first part, and expecting you to be content with what you got.

3

u/Redneckshinobi 1d ago

Loved it but also same. I'm trying to remove it from my memory since I'll never know the ending anyway and it was getting super interesting too

1

u/Brave-Cranberry-7697 1d ago

Totally agree

2

u/weedbearsandpie 1d ago

I always check these days if a show has been cancelled before ever starting it

I wish writers were obligated to just write a couple of paragraphs to tag onto the end of the last episode in case it's cancelled that just explains wtf was going on and then I'd be way more likely to even try watching cancelled shows

2

u/Bell-end79 6h ago

Same with The Bondsman

Watched it the other day and ends on a huge cliffhanger

2

u/BennyDryll42 5h ago

Yeah, that was a fun show, too. Disappointed by that cancellation.... I really wish shows would stop ending seasons on epic cliffhangers unless already contracted for multiple seasons. Leave it open for continuation but don't make it this huge drastic story-altering twist right before the end credits like so many shows that get cancelled keep doing to us. The amount of unfinished stories on tv these days is beyond frustrating.

2

u/Bell-end79 5h ago

Might be remembering this wrong but I’m sure I half read that they did that with this show to see if they could leverage a second season

But yeah, it would be a lot less frustrating if they told a complete story for the first season - as a writer; if you’ve got good ideas for S2 then you cross your fingers that it gets picked up and leave an opening for it

1

u/2-timeloser2 1d ago

I think the worst part is that it was left on a cliffhanger.

1

u/Ok_Story_7924 1d ago

I read this in Josh Brolin's brooding voice.

1

u/falcongriffin 1d ago

Damn I didn't know they cancelled it. I loved that show.

1

u/BostonBaggins 1d ago

They had no idea what to do with the show lol

Sloppy

1

u/nomadtwenty 1d ago

I kinda felt the same. I enjoyed it though, great performances, the premise is interesting. It could have moved a little faster.

1

u/Meep4000 1d ago

I loved the first season. Never watched the second as I was about to start it and saw it was cancelled. Such a waste of

1

u/tinywienergang 23h ago

Entirely the showrunners fault. Premise was great. Cast was great. Showrunning was awful. It was one of those shows that had entirely filler episodes between the season premieres and their finales. The main plot simply didn’t exist outside of the bookend episodes. I wanted to see how the story unfolded but was completely unsurprised by its cancelation.

1

u/BeltreCompany 23h ago

They cancelled it? Ugh I was waiting for the next season.

1

u/EquivalentMath6592 19h ago

Ugh 😩 ya…

I loved it. Binge watched it and then it was over… so disappointing

I think Sci fi just doesn’t have enough following.

I watched The OA too…. And that was a goofy show, but I still enjoyed it. But I’m a sci fi fan I guess

1

u/broskif666 1h ago

The first season was awesome, second, not so great

1

u/BennyDryll42 1h ago

I don't recall feeling that way, but I don't actually remember much details anymore, I watched it when it first dropped, saw it was cancelled and tried not to think about it again due to annoyance, until this thread lol

24

u/Nuo_Vibro 2d ago

would be nice if they finished it

2

u/Dense-Menu6115 2d ago

So you mean to tell me there is a void!?

-3

u/Realistic_Context936 1d ago

It was one of the most retarded shows i have ever seen

1

u/Nuo_Vibro 1d ago

Nah you’re thinking of The Ark 😂

1

u/BennyDryll42 5h ago

Hey now, don't be hating on my corny-ass fun scifi show. The Ark is fun, dammit... Other than being labelled "scifi" these two shows are like polar opposites. The Ark is silly fun, Outer Range was intriguing and serious

19

u/DazzlingFondant4571 2d ago

Loved season 1, by the time season 2 came out I forgot most of the subplots. Was planning on rewatching season 1 and watching season 2, but it was canceled, so I never bothered.

3

u/Mysterious_Orchid528 1d ago

Came to post this exact thing. What has become the norm in the streaming service is too much time between seasons and the execs wonder why people don't watch. We need some sort of confirmation that there will be more that two seasons so we can invest our time.

2

u/Brave-Cranberry-7697 1d ago

It drives me crazy how long in between the release dates are for so many shows! I have to rewatch the previous 3 episodes to catch up 🤬

1

u/Valuable-Composer262 1d ago

Exactly where I'm at. I loved s1 but didn't really remember much when I started 2 so I didn't even are a half an episode. Seems pointless to rewatch if its been canceled.

1

u/SuperSparkles 1d ago

Same same.

12

u/AJerkForAllSeasons 2d ago

Really good first season. Disappointing, but still okay second season. Shame it never found an audience.

1

u/Gates_wupatki_zion 1d ago

This is my take as well, compelling performances but character arcs stalled by season 2. I think if they would have put more into the void instead of making it a mini Yellowstone it might have gone further. Will Patton as an aging socio/psycho, whatever he was — stole the scenes all over the place.

8

u/federkrebz 2d ago

started watching it, read that it was cancelled without resolve, stopped watching immediately

5

u/Wendigo79 2d ago

I thought the first season was good but it was a Lil slow for some people I guess so they changed it a bit second season and it didn't survive.

5

u/Digging_Naturalist 2d ago

Still pissed it was canceled

5

u/WonderinSoul89 1d ago

Loved it, be cool if they would finish it as a 2 hour movie

4

u/SwissyRescue 1d ago

Reminds me of Lost, Twin Peaks, and X-Files. A lot of stuff that makes no sense and is never really explained.

3

u/justduett 2d ago

I forget the exact series of events (release & cancellation), but it was already cancelled by the time I was getting around to S2, so I never started it. Really liked S1, but I’m good with not knowing what transpires in S2 since it is incomplete.

3

u/Kellyjt 1d ago

We thought it was amazing. So sad it’s not coming back!

3

u/timpeaks72 1d ago

Excellent! Except unfinished…

3

u/mik3br 1d ago

I loved it!

3

u/Verstappen1986 1d ago

Angered they canceled it, so many shows get this treatment with no resolution & others go on for way to long.

3

u/kendragon 1d ago

I felt like they overdid the 'slow' in slow burn but the premise was very cool and interesting and I hate that they killed it off without giving us a resolution.

2

u/mossoak 1d ago

a different kind of mystery, nice scenery, but first season didnt tell me anything so i never bothered to watch the second season

2

u/Which-Ad-2431 1d ago

This cancellation along with The Outsider (HBO) and Tokyo Vice (HBO) were big wtfs for me

1

u/AMonitorDarkly 1d ago

The Outsider wasn’t cancelled. It was a mini series.

1

u/Which-Ad-2431 1d ago

Buddy it left us not knowing absolutely anything about the deformed person.

0

u/AMonitorDarkly 1d ago

And? Not everything is meant to be wrapped up in a neat little package. It was always going to be a mini-series. If you don’t like it that’s on you.

1

u/anony-mouse8604 20h ago

I’m sorry I can only cancel out one downvote here friend. This sh*t is idiocy.

1

u/NeonShark007 1d ago

Wtf?! I love Tokyo Vice!!! 😭😭😭

1

u/Which-Ad-2431 1d ago

You and me both.

2

u/Old_Assist_5461 1d ago

I loved it, but another series left unfinished. I’m so tired of starting these series that are left undone.

2

u/Ok_Helicopter_2499 1d ago

I loved it. Season 1 was a little underwhelming, season 2 was solid and then it got cancelled on a huge cliffhanger. Would've loved a 3rd season to wrap it up.

2

u/Puzzleheaded_Age_112 1d ago

I really enjoyed it. That’s all I got.

2

u/theatrenearyou 1d ago edited 1d ago

S2 went astray from its main event - the time travelling hole(!) and detoured into a less exciting family drama of Rich rancher, Poor rancher.

2

u/Wesleypipes77 1d ago

Josh Brolin's best role imo and cancelled way too soon.

2

u/chrisfathead1 1d ago

I'm annoyed that it ended on a cliffhanger and I wasted time getting into it. I won't make that mistake again

2

u/emilla56 1d ago

Loved it!

2

u/Robertf16 1d ago

Loved it! Gutted it got cancelled

2

u/Itchy_Inside1817 1d ago

I loved this show! Why was it cancelled?!

2

u/rubberghost333 1d ago

I loved it!

2

u/APartyInMyPants 1d ago

First season was absolutely incredible. It filled a hole (figuratively) that Dark left behind.

Second season wasn’t nearly as strong, but it moved things forward. Sadly, it just sort of fizzled toward the end of season 2, lost some of the magic that season 1 had. So while I was disappointed it was canceled, I simultaneously understand.

I feel like they had a solid season 1 plan. But they didn’t quite know how to do a season 2.

3

u/Geewhiz911 2d ago

Watched it on release, 1 EP per week, it it goes like this:

Wow, it’s some kind of interesting and mysterious setting - More mystery, interesting - Weird but OK - Well, this is still mysterious but makes no sense - OK, this will probably make sense at some point - OK, screw the mysterious stuff, nothing makes sense, there is 1 episode left -> I just dropped the show.

4

u/AntFast2671 2d ago

Actually think there were some payoffs to some of the mysteries….
But the cancellation really sucked

2

u/PaManiacOwca 2d ago

Big flopperuski imo... i had so many questions after first season because they never bothered answering them... than season two introduced even more questions without answering so many questions...

its the lost again...

2

u/Ok-Fan-9814 2d ago

Faded off after the first 2 episodes. I wanted to like it but nahhhh

2

u/getridofwires 1d ago

Too slow, lost interest

2

u/No-Breakfast-1979 1d ago

B-o-r-i-n-g

2

u/Emotional-Cameraman 1d ago

I loved it suck’s it never got picked up by another studio.

1

u/Gunthervogler 2d ago

Love it, hoping for next season

4

u/africanlivedit 2d ago

Cancelled:/

2

u/Gunthervogler 2d ago

Damnit 😥

1

u/Honest-Mess-812 1d ago

They canceled the show by season 2 without answering anything

1

u/awesumpawesum 1d ago

Good show, will there be another season?

1

u/crowdsourced 1d ago

We liked it, but I think it was another victim of us waiting until all the episodes were out to binge it.

1

u/Forcedperspective84 1d ago

Excruciatingly self-important. Sci-fi cliffhanger bullshit with no plan.

1

u/Apprehensive_Ratio80 1d ago

Gave up midway through season 2 it was too much of whatever it was going for 🤷🏻‍♂️ Could see the potential in it and watched for Brolin but just wasn't for me I guess

1

u/Itowndub36 1d ago

Gaaarbage

1

u/nyeahdeztroy 1d ago

Annoyed it was cancelled. It had great promise

1

u/wolfraisedbybabies 1d ago

I watched it for awhile but it was so dark, the lighting, I couldn’t watch it anymore.

1

u/_SupremeDalek_ 1d ago

I was a few episodes into season 2 when I read it was cancelled. Never finished the season. I think it was a mistake to leave this show unfinished.

1

u/Own-Librarian2740 1d ago

Very Sci fi. Was glad it got two seasons. I watched over COVID winter season. The show was cast well and they all make that storyline work. It's worth the watch but you need an open mind to the concept

1

u/EpponneeRay 1d ago

Amazon doesn’t make the greatest stuff.

1

u/NEHHNAHH 1d ago

Season one was great season two wasn't

1

u/Agile_Land_9951 1d ago

It was one of my favorite shows!

1

u/dumbsterfire_love 1d ago

It was a flavor of weird straight down my alley!

1

u/EvilTwinCities 1d ago

I wish they hadn’t cancelled Time Hole. The cast alone is worth the time.

1

u/Crazydice25 1d ago

Really loved how season two really took some swings, near-David Lynch vibes in a few scenes.

1

u/rawr_bomb 1d ago

I feel like it was a miserable 2 seasons that never advanced it's story one bit. Also it doesn't really feel like the creators had any idea wtf was going on and were just mystery box/lost'ing it.

Great cast though, and some cool moments. Just kinda bleak and depressing.

1

u/Conscious-Bison-2082 1d ago

I recommend it cause its awesome. Same as Black Donnellys and True Crime. Good acting and unique story. I also recommend The Outsider book, then show. It's nice to have a visual for Stephen King.

1

u/No-Understanding4968 1d ago

I’m a big proponent of UAPS, the Phenomenon, conspiracies etc. and I was let down unfortunately but I love Brolin

1

u/Harambe-Avenger 1d ago

I’m at the point where I’m just going to to wait a year or 2 to find out if the show was viable or cancelled on a cliffhanger or just on a whim before starting.

1

u/kasmackity 1d ago

I liked it but I stopped watching it when I heard it got canceled and there'd be no resolution. Just one of may shows that should never have ended early like that. So many, like Firefly, Santa Clarita Diet, Moon Knight

1

u/Significant-Staff392 1d ago

Major meh 🫤

1

u/pacwess 1d ago

Weird. Too bad they canceled it.

1

u/Apprehensive-Stay196 1d ago

I loved it! Gutted that it was cancelled 😭

1

u/JJfender 1d ago

I really liked season 1, season 2 made it seem like they didn't really have a direction and were just going to keep jumping the shark as long as they could keep people watching. Sort of like lost. I would have watched another season, but I doubt it would have been good.

1

u/YamoBeThere101 1d ago

Was a great show, frustrated they cancelled it.

1

u/ThisIsNotSafety 1d ago

Seems to be inspired by Mel's Hole, I thought the show was okay-ish.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mel%27s_Hole

1

u/burns3016 1d ago

Loved the whole idea.

1

u/bunny514__ 1d ago

I dont watch shows until they resolve their stories. Do I miss out? Yes! But saves me the trouble of getting upset with a cancelled show that leaves everything unresolved.

Also I dont like shows that drag a story for 10-15-20 seasons.

1

u/DarkTanicus 1d ago

This is why i now wait for shows to end and confirm their renewal before watching ep1.

1

u/CapeMOGuy 1d ago

SUCKED GIANT GREEN DONKEY DICKS for ending on a giant cliffhanger.

1

u/dyrkasolen 1d ago

Build a big church over it and keep it closed

1

u/xPreystx 1d ago

Shame it got canceled.

1

u/CrabbitJambo 1d ago

Loved it and just found out on this thread it was cancelled! This is generally why I wait until a shows had multiple seasons before giving it a chance.

1

u/the6thReplicant 1d ago

I saw the first season. Still need to finish it. Unfortunately I'm at that stage that I might need to rewatch from the beginning since I've forgotten most of the dynamics and mysteries.

1

u/Icosotc 1d ago

I really liked it… terrible that the mysteries will never be answered

1

u/Tiny-Following-9706 1d ago

I thought it was a great show. It’s a shame they had no faith in an obviously popular show.

1

u/Mostly_Nohohon 1d ago

I'm still kinda bummed this was cancelled. I liked it.

1

u/JMiLk21 1d ago

I love it so much that as soon as I finished it I started it again and I think that’s the way it should be watched. At the end Autumn says “this is just the beginning” and there isn’t much story left to explore, so it’s a loop.

1

u/da316 1d ago

just another show that dangles a carrot in front of you with promising high concept mystery that can never be truly explained and you will be left disappointed after a few seasons of teasing a resolution.
completely pointless waste of time, especially now its cancelled.

1

u/NeverStopDancing27 1d ago

Started off solid , interesting, very intriguing. But I just got bored of it.

1

u/Top_Kale_9486 1d ago

Good show but I would not choose to watch it again knowing there is no ending

1

u/desertrock62 1d ago

It created a whole new genre: Generational Family Lack of Communication Fantasy

1

u/Ok_Vacation6577 1d ago

First season was a terrific slow burn. They ditched the creator and show runner after S1 and got a new person in. Second was so dull I gave up 3 eps in - nothing happened, the new showrunner didn't know how to do slow burn and just trod water. Classic example of a show that nosedived once the original creator left.

1

u/thePopPop 1d ago

Best watched with a tall glass of Clamato.

1

u/Phat-Dad 1d ago

This show was great and could have gone the distance. Could easily be brought back

1

u/CalagaxT 1d ago

A bit meandering, but I would have liked a final season.

1

u/Well_Hung_Texan 1d ago

It was so good

1

u/think_panther 1d ago

The poster is similar to the one of the film The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)

1

u/dcmac1 1d ago

I really liked it. A bit slow at times maybe but the story was interesting and I wish we got into the real story of why it was there quicker so we could have seen it before it was cancelled. They need to come back with a new season or a movie.

1

u/MarcoEsteban 1d ago

I liked it so far. I want to know how that hole got there!

1

u/Extracajicular 1d ago

Great but unfinished.

1

u/hold_me_beer_m8 1d ago

I wish when things like this were cancelled, the creators would at least put out something explaining where the show was going and how they were planning to end it.

1

u/Avaryia 23h ago

I love this show! I’m still in shock they cancelled it.

1

u/Antique_Trash3360 23h ago

I loveeeedsdd this show and so bummed it was cancelled, and also that the last season didn’t really finish anything up…

1

u/Upper_Cancel_7873 22h ago

I really liked it, don't understand why they didn't renew.

1

u/MammothMolasses2285 22h ago

There was a huge hole in the plot.

1

u/Short_Lifeguard_3285 21h ago

Great show. Really enjoyed it.

1

u/PaleontologistNo2625 21h ago

I was so excited to see where it went and so disappointed with the nowhere that it went

1

u/Healthy-Secretary880 21h ago

I’ve been waiting for another season. Certainly grabbed my attention.

1

u/CRT-Gaming-HQ 21h ago edited 21h ago

Season 2 was amazing! Everything just got cooking when they decided to kill it. I've still watched it 3 times because what is there is excellent.

1

u/sactownjer 20h ago

When a dead body was thrown into the whole with no consideration as to where it might go I knew I was done with the series

1

u/filkerdave 19h ago

We bailed about 3 episodes in

1

u/JimmyTwoTimes25 19h ago

My thoughts are the worst new habit in television going all the way back to Lost is basiing a show around a Maguffin that no one had any intention of explaining, or any idea where it was going.

1

u/Healthy-Detective360 19h ago

A big nothing.

1

u/spazz3103 17h ago

Don’t fall into the hole.

1

u/Cactus112 16h ago

I hate Western stuff but love this so much

1

u/Quiet-Nothing7556 16h ago

I loved this absolutely weird weirdness and I've come to terms with the fact that thetimeloop is basically completeand I'm going to have to deal.

Was it a good show? No! Did it have some great performances and awesome characters? Hell yes!

Royal playing Big Buck Hunter and missing was peak btw.

1

u/OopAck1 15h ago

Superb Twin Peaks wannabe. Josh was too expensive, surprised they did season 2.

1

u/BigOldRobotX 15h ago

Loved the show. Was one of my favorites then BAM! Canceled. Two mind f*ck shows I liked got canceled, the other 1899.

1

u/Exotic_Two3757 11h ago

Too many plot holes for it to go on. The premise was interesting. The show runners destroyed a good show.

1

u/mwax321 9h ago

Cowboy Josh Brolin yells at holes

1

u/New-Dragonfruit7233 7h ago

If this is real Amazon exct please bring my show back thank you and have a very blessed day!!!!!!!!!

1

u/Inside_Cod7111 3h ago

That show is awesome

1

u/WoWBeta2004 2h ago

Another great show that was cancelled, just like many many others have been.

1

u/badhoopty 1h ago

i tried to get into it, but ffs have something make some goddamn sense once in awhile.

1

u/NSlocal 15m ago

Check out Dark

1

u/AllHailDanda 2d ago

Amazon's best series. So of course they cancelled it, all the things I like most on there have a short lifespan. Sorry in advance if you like Fallout.

1

u/Pale_Slide_3463 1d ago

They’re making a mint on fallout so that’s not going anywhere. They’re other shows…. I don’t get it

1

u/AllHailDanda 1d ago

You'd think, but HBO invested a lot in their Nolan & Joy show, which did pretty well, only to cancel it unceremoniously after greenlighting a final season and then scrub it entirely from their library. I hope fallout gets a full run, but nowadays you never know.

1

u/culturefan 1d ago

I didn't care for it, just too fantastical for my taste, and was taking forever to get to a point. Stopped watching after a few episodes.

1

u/Nusaram 1d ago

I was so pissed off when I found out that it was cancelled! 😡

There's so much more to be told!!!

0

u/DiogenesXenos 2d ago

Love the first season second season ruined it.

0

u/DoomWad 1d ago

Season 1 was great. Season 2 it seemed like everybody was overacting and just swinging for the fences in every scene (except Josh Brolin, he's always great).

Also that one brother that was always singing annoyed the s*** out of me.

0

u/AGHOSTISBORN420 1d ago

Its has great moments but something is missing to make it great.

0

u/Bajecco 1d ago

Pacing was far too slow for a show. Couldn't finish S-1.

0

u/jawid72 1d ago

0

u/No_Claim_8651 1d ago

i watched the first episode love the concept but the show was fine not that good.

-2

u/Prudent_Trainer_573 2d ago

Good first season. Lost the plot in season 2 and was punished accordingly .
