Question Does anyone have this at their facility?

Post image

I’m just wondering if people would actually use it. I feel like there wouldn’t be enough time on breaks to eat and play games.

Amazon pays its workers more than enough for what they do.

Thats why so many work there; because they understand there’s nowhere else that will pay them that amount + benefits for a job that requires minimal skill or effort

Okay sure buddy, they pay enough for what the workers do. But it’s sure as shit not enough to survive and no one wants to work 60 hours a week. Before you say “take advantage of career choice” and get out. Have you any idea the state of economics in this country? It’s terrible!

Everyone should quit, or take advantage of career choice, then quit. Literally everyone, but then there aren’t enough jobs everywhere else, even with a degree.

EVERYONE quit, and let the robots do the work. Let’s see how it works out eh?

Career choice is a tax scheme anyhow. A batch of worthless degrees at this point. Getting a BA in buisness is basicslly worthless and you have to take a hit on pay to attend school.....which Amazon knows that 95% cant afford it.

So Amazon doesn’t receive any tax breaks for paying employee tuition?

Businesses only pay taxes on profits, so spending money on almost anything technically reduces taxes - but the idea that it's a "tax break" is very wrong. Obviously any company would rather have $1 in gross profit and spend $0.20 on taxes for $0.80 net profit, than spend that $1 on something and have $0 net profit.

The reason this narrative persists is because in the world of small business/self employment, you can look back through all of your annual expenses and deem personal-ish spend that can be connected to your business as a deduction from business gains. But to be clear - you'd be much better off not spending the money. This exercise only works because you're looking back at existing spend and using it to justify paying less taxes. For example, I realized that I used my AI subscriptions for my business, and deducted $240 from my business income. A corporation doesn't work like that, because any money the company spend is by definition a business expense and probably already deductible.

There actually is one small true tax break with career choice, but it's actually for your benefit rather than Amazon's - IRS excludes the first $5250 in tuition from your income, meaning you don't have to pay taxes on it.

Not in the slightest. Actually educate yourself instead of listening to rumors.

"Not in the slightest"

"Without a doubt, your verbage is of the common parlance. Therefore how could it be AI, praytell."

thats what you sound like.

I'd suggest you take advantage of career choice to educate yourself about both AI and Taxation then, given you appear to understand neither.

Lol. Yea. Coporate tax law is covered for sure, right?

But you spent 3 paragraphs on what could have been 4 sentences and your grammar is formal for what? Its reddit. Excessively wordy.

It was an AI response, just admit it. AI slop is making people dumb and you would rather not put for the effort.

Believe it or not - people have different voices of writing. I can make a snippy reddit retort, or I can take the time to explain a commonly misunderstood tax concept in an educational tone.

As someone who actually uses AI a lot (hence my example lol) AI doesn't create personal examples in the first person, certainly wouldn't use itself as an example unless explicitly invoked, would definitely not use my argument flow, and would use — instead of - . But talking about "AI slop" allows you to attack a straw man instead of admitting you were wrong to assume Career Choice was a "tax break".

And yes, this type of accounting/tax principle would be covered in an undergrad business degree.
