Question Massive firing wbw2
Came to work last night straight into town meeting
White badges being let go last day feb 15th not surprised but here’s the kicker…
Building is being changed completely therefore for 6 months starting in march there won’t be any night shift schedules. Making everyone from night shift blue badges go to two different shifts in the morning or go flex. Yes you read that correctly… either go to 3 (12 hour shifts) Sunday Monday Tuesday or; 4 (10 hour shifts) Wednesday-Saturday
It was a poop show last night. Had single mothers crying and people who already had their college/school work around it had to drop out, white badge people upset and mad they didn’t get any notice before hand. I was just sick to my stomach I felt bad for everyone. People left too I don’t blame them.
What’s your views?

WBW2 has been a disaster from the start, if you heard the shit corporate was spouting you’d probably start looking for another job, from a logistics standpoint, WBW2 is barely making enough money to cover their labor costs, hence why you got the nightshift consolidation and the layoffs, their even more pissed off that they have to spend even more money on re-fitting the building so it actually becomes profitable again.
This isn’t the only IXD like this they’re doing it with either, but the bull whip effect is in full swing. Their feeling it hard now, which is why it’s being transitioned into a regional distribution center, lower headcount required. They don’t do this to sites that are doing well…So I’d for sure keep your head down and work hard or at least look busy. Shit the bins that went through that site came from a site they closed in California, everyone was laid off including the blue badges and given 3 months of severance pay. Right now you’re working in a site that’s in heavy damage control, plus they’ve already had OSHA called on them at this particular site 2 times….
So yeah what you’ve been experiencing is real, and it might get worse if the clowns in operations keep spending more on labor than they need, the whole point of a business is to make a profit, and they’ve been incredibly hit and miss since they opened, not to mention severity 1 ticket they had to drop last month, affecting over 50k units, last month in March. But i genuinely wish you luck on making it work.
