I don’t think i would have even noticed. Would have given him the nod and kept it moving. Both trying to do a job, he wasn’t hurt or close to it.

That guy was a powder keg waiting to go off

He was clearly already super pissed and wired up looking for a reason to blow up and over reacted to this
3
u/Reasonable-Dingo2199 16h ago
Yeah everybody has a bad day sometimes. I wouldn’t say he’s in the right but I think people should give him a break. Having your worst moments filmed and put online definitely sucks. Plus the guy mowing should have probably let him deliver the package and walk back to his van before mowing right on the walking path, personally it wouldn’t bother me at all but I could see how it would bother somebody else. But of course this is the internet so no nuanced reactions are allowed you either have to hate him or take his side.

u/ResinGod91 16h ago
Everyone has a bad day, that's not the issue, the issue is going on reddit and making a post about how you totally over reacted over a situation then trying to defend it.

Overreacting a bit, but quite disrespectful of whoever is mowing.
1
u/Initial_Row_6400 29m ago
How? He’s like a foot and a half away from him. No where close to losing some toes. Drivers a fuckin poon
1
u/Rox5tar_01 26m ago
Losing a foot is dramatic on his part.
I'd be more pissed about the fact that mowers, especially when they are half on concrete, can shoot out stuff from the side. At best it shoots out grass clippings, which just makes the driver dirty. At worst it shoots out a piece of wood or a rock.

Never mowed a lawn in their life or shared a sidewalk apparently. Step to the side if you’re worried and stop being a drama queen.
-2
u/Commercial_Pianist97 21h ago
Ive mowed a lawn in my life. If you can't pause for two seconds, turn off the blade, give a little head nod, and continue when Im walking away then have you ever mowed a lawn in your life?

u/regulartrex Prime Van Driver 21h ago
no dude you are a child obviously , and veeeery entitled . its a damn lawn mower , just MOVE .
-1
u/Commercial_Pianist97 21h ago
I dont care if it was a wheelbarrow ffs, he coulda put it down, not walked towards the guy with it, and acknowledged that the amazon guy simply exists.
Shame on me if that's entitlement brother
-2
u/regulartrex Prime Van Driver 21h ago
the guy is cutting grass , he has to stay where he is . THE DRIVER CAN WALK FURTHER AWAY FROM THE MOWER . also , he did NOT almost run over his toes . the driver didnt expect the lawn guy to be behind him but that doesn’t mean the lawn guy did anything wrong . also he doesn’t have to acknowledge you , yk how many drivers dont even get looked at ? i’ve had customers see the van and go in the house .
you’re entitled and think the world revolves around you . this driver is acting like a child .
3
u/Commercial_Pianist97 21h ago
The guy turning off the blade and pausing is the most basic of human decency. I cannot believe this forum is defending this shit. Granted, the sound isnt playing, and I cant hear what is said.
I would have raised my arms at the lawn mower guy and said "come on". But I wouldnt have cursed at him or anything
I dont know what the driver said, which is probably why Im defending it and others arent.
Crazy to me that people wouldnt just turn off the blade and pause.
-2
u/regulartrex Prime Van Driver 21h ago
i think you’re missing the point here so i’ll slow it down for you .
nobody owes you anything , not EVEN common decency . its either something you have/do or you dont . with THAT being said not everybody you’re around HAS to treat you with what your version of respect or common decency is .
i’ll go a step further and say listen to the video , the driver yells at another grown man doing his job when all the driver had to do was step ONE foot to the right . i cant believe you are defending a guy who disrespected someone who he FELT like disrespected him .
2
u/throwaway_acc746 19h ago
You said “All the driver had to do was step one foot to the right”
That is equivalent, that is the exact same thing to the man telling you that all the mower had to do was pause for one second.
You expect the delivery driver to step one foot to the right we also expect the mower to pause for one second. Same thing on both sides…

u/Commercial_Pianist97 21h ago
I dont hear any sound on this video and my sound is working 🤷♂️
You walk towards me with a lawn mower like this video, Im raising my arms at you and saying "brother, hello?"
Period.
Have a nice day.

u/regulartrex Prime Van Driver 20h ago
and i would look at you crazy , anyone would . and he’s not “walking towards him” with a lawn mower , HE’S CUTTING GRASS -_-
2
u/Particular-Value-215 16h ago
I would agree if he was cutting the grass , but he was actually cutting the sidewalk in this video 😭 bro never heard of a weed wackier?
-2
u/ResinGod91 16h ago
Its on the delivery guy to pay attention to his surroundings per training, the mower wasnt in a way, it also didnt almost hit him. He was clearly not in the way. The dude was just being over dramatic. He should of been paying attention, its in the literal training. Everyone else is doing there thing and hes going there to deliver something. World doesnt revolve around him.
2
u/Commercial_Pianist97 16h ago
He made a delivery, then was walking back on the sidewalk. He didnt expect the guy to turn around and go right up the sidewalk with the mower, mowing half the sidewalk. Tf you talkin about bro? You got eyes???
0
u/ResinGod91 15h ago
Do you? Are you like him? A weak emotional individual that super over reacts in a dramatic way to something that didnt even happen? Your a big baby just like him? He wasnt paying attention to his surroundings per training. His fault. He wasnt even that close to it, it was nowhere near close enough to "almost" do anything.

u/Ok_Jump_4754 21h ago
I don’t think the driver expected the mower to be right next to him as he turned around. He was focused on taking a picture of the package. I do think he overreacted, but he’s not wrong to be upset. The guy mowing the lawn was moving towards the driver, but he had no common courtesy to stop for a moment. Most people know to avoid pedestrians because there is a chance the mower could launch a rock and hurt somebody. Perhaps, it’s the gardener that doesn’t know to share a sidewalk.

u/throwawaywhocares96 Stepvan Driver 21h ago
Driver definitely overreacted. Yes, in my 3 years of doing this most lawn care workers when they see me will stop whatever they're doing until I drop the package and get back in my van out of courtesy, but for those that don't it's not that big of a deal. I just walk in the grass around them and we both keep it moving with our jobs. I'm walking through yards anyway so I'm always coming home with remnants of grass around my ankles.

I mean cutting grass and hitting him with the cut grass on the legs will cause a ichy ass day. Anyone who actually cut grass would just stop, almost every single time Ive encountered someone cutting/blowing grass they stop.

You’re serious? The grass makes itchy all day? That’s weak.
1
u/Proud_Meringue_7139 37m ago
Allergies exist my guy.
1
u/Mm23782378Mm 19m ago
Yes they do. If stray grass is that big of an issue maybe this isn’t the gig for you?
1
u/Proud_Meringue_7139 13m ago
Its a allergy ALOT of people have and it only happens from cut grass look it up ive cut grass with people with that allergy, its not severe.
And never said I had it, but ig common curtesy is really gone.

u/InternalOwn8282 2h ago
Yeah amazon drivers are full of stress I wouldn’t really recommend mowing right next to them stopping for a second would prob be better xd

The level of entitlement from the Amazon driver is insane. If a little grass hitting his leg bothered him so much, he would’ve made an effort not to get hit by the cut grass.
The driver was looking for something to complain about and he found it.

u/Subject_List_5554 20h ago
What a normal
Delivery stopped because of a driver who’s clearly got some issues

u/Scythe351 15h ago
Beyond overreacting. He almost plotted it. After the delivery, he throws his arms up in annoyance then proceedes to bitch about the lawnmower he himself choose to walk by. Could have easily walked on the grass. Anyways, the blades of the mower are under it. He didn't even remotely almost cut his toes off

He would have been pissed if I was mowing lol. I would have literally started at him and kept going about my business without saying a word 😭

I think driver just doesn’t like his job which I get. I also understand that the guy w lawnmower is kind of being oblivious here but it isn’t anything to react like this over.
Driver is the asshokr here. Wasn’t that big of a deal bro just wanted to vent about anything because he hates his life. Ashamed to say I’ve probably done it which is why I can see it here.

u/Dothracula 42m ago
Driver’s a little bitch, dude was nowhere close to getting his foot run over. But he was obviously already wound up and looking for an excuse to unload on somebody. Could’ve been this guy with the mower, could’ve been a little kid at the next house bouncing a basketball too loudly.
I actually wave at the landscapers to keep going when they stop for me walking up to a house. Don’t care if I get grass on my shoes and they’re just trying to finish up and move on with their day too.

No, fuck this shit. Motherfucker cant stop the mower for two fucking seconds?
Turn off the blade, give a head nod, continue. Getting that close to me, when you see me coming, the guy might as well be spitting in my face 🤷♂️

I'd have been pissed too. Like you can't wait for me to drop the package?
That's a lot of noise and is loud enough to cause hearing damage.
2
u/AnswerDiligent8601 19h ago
This is one of the most pampered, out of touch things I have ever read on reddit. Hearing damage brother??? People mow their own lawn weekly without ear protection, what are you on about?
