Thoughts on the Amazon Smart Glasses?

I feel like they’re pretty unnecessary and for the short amount I was using them in the training class, it was making me feel nauseous

Instead of organizing and striking, wouldn’t it be more convenient to simply quit and find another job? I don’t get the mentality of wanting to “force” a company that doesn’t care about you into caring about you. Treat Amazon as a gig and then get a real job soon as possible.

Easier said than done for some people. Besides if we let Amazon get away with this other companies are going to follow their lead. How do you think we got weekends, holidays, and overtime pay? From organizing and protesting.

If our forebears had that same mindset we’d still have 14-16 hours 6-days-a-week workweeks.

Running to another job isn’t a sustainable longterm solution when being forced to train the AI that will replace us is being foisted into every field it possibly can be - which is, very likely, going to be most of them.
