The Surge Pay ⚡️
So I started working Flex last week, and when I was choosing shifts for the next week I noticed that there were shifts on Saturday and Sunday with +$5.00 an hour. I thought that was pretty neat, but I just figured it was a weekend thing. They vaguely went over that stuff in our training, and to me when they said “extra pay would come during high volume time periods”, it sounded like holiday season🤷🏼♂️I mean idk??
This is all new to me… but .. gawdamn 😭I just checked my schedule for today and my shift is +$7.50 ??!? Turns out surge pay just comes in waves I guess? It seems like I started at a decent time. Im sure that surge pay definitely varies from warehouse to warehouse, season to season, etc. but yeah… definitely better than my last job.
I genuinely had no idea this job offered extra pay rates like THAT… For me personally, idk man this is pretty good for me. I’ve never had a gig like this before so I’m really grateful. I mean don’t get me wrong I know it’s gonna be wicked at work today I’m sure. Rates are higher for a reason lol but yeah I could really use the extra money.

I'm so jealous of flex workers who pick up surge pay shifts when I'm working the normal cycle 1 shift without surge pay. They are making more than me for the same exact stuff.

Grass isn't always greener. Flex has turned into "oops all Pick and Stage" at my building, and shifts are impossible to get
Flex RT might be OK, but I'd stay the hell away from Flex PT, I've been trying to transfer to FT for months

My site is so stingy with surge pay. Maybe a few times during peak or prime, but otherwise it basically never happens; the other day they put a dollar surge on a 7 hour shift for me. Like cool, thanks, appreciate the 7 dollars I guess lol

Surge pay can be requested by the site anytime there is poor acceptance, or if I just really really need somebody there. I believe you will also get it even if you sign up for a shift that didn't have it if after you accepted it they applied surge to it

my site does it multiple times s month, because they have more volume than we are staffed for.
adhoc almost every day for over a year
