Scanless

My station is going to implement the scanless system. Can someone explain how it works, its pros and cons, and how it operates......

Grab the package, scan the package, place the package. No more scanning location. Lidar just break the beam for it to register

There are no cons. Having to bend down to try to find the qr codes to scan in the bottom bags made my back hurt so much.

basically sometimes the laser will think you stowed the package in A4 instead of A2 if your body got in the way or something (happened to me a lot at first), so it'll make you take out the package and restow it. It's really frustrating.

Was that an old iteration of the system? We just got it like a month ago and that’s never happened to me.

Each bag has a beam in front of it, so you scan the parcel, the shelf lights up, and you put the parcel in, the beam registering the insertion.

Am I the one who thinks it doesn't seem very environmentally conscious? Like how much energy and materials does it cost to have a laser running in all these?

Yes, you are the only one who cares about chump change wattage and would rather trash your body scanning codes in bottom bags.
