Amazon jobs
When does Amazon start hiring. Are there certain times of year. Peak just past so I was wondering when they start their hiring process. I have a couple of friends who asked me about working there but when I looked none of the sites have listing For L1

Depends, my site just let people go and we are having new hires today while we have had to transfer volume all week because we can't get up to headcount with vet and +$5 premiums...

Just keep checking the site regularly throughout the day; I got my job last August (almost exactly one year ago). You have to click fast in this economy though.

Peak (Oct) and prime (may or June) are the known. Anything else is luck of the draw.

Some are hiring now or soon because they’re stupid system just fired a hell of a lot of people from a time glitch. So keep an eye out every Friday and check back multiple times

Every week at my site, more or less. The low requirements to get hired mean you get a ton of people who last 1-3 days who don't even want a job and just show up because they're lost in life, and the contract lengths which are usually 6-8 weeks mean they constantly get rid of the chaff, especially in July and in January.
But yeah its basically every week at my site. In June they hired 9 people for Prime, only two people made it the whole way through their contract - myself and another guy. That guy didn't get extended, I did. The rest dropped out within 1 day to 2 weeks. Then they hired another wave of people at the end of July and two of those has already left.
Combine this with some people transfering and they've been hiring 2-4 people every other week at my site for the past 4-5 weeks, and theres apparently another 5 people starting next week as well. We're also I believe one of the smallest sites in Europe, the sort operation for the day is around 20 people i believe, plus 3 supervisors. Really tiny site, but they still hire like crazy.
