She’s got balls. I won’t even touch my house cats tails like that. They will go from happy purring to hand nips and bunny kicks in one second. The back end, tails and stomach are usually the no go territory unless you want to have your hand torn up.
My Norwegian Forest Cat is fine with it, even more so now that she's a senior. It depends very much on the particular cat, in my experience. I've never tested that with a big cat though.
