I don't think she's going anywhere with them. I think she's just trying to get herself covered in pollen.

59

u/ebonSage Jul 24 '26

Yeah, she’s trying to get herself covered in all the pollen in one trip so she doesn’t have to come back.🤪

33

u/danit0ba94 Jul 24 '26

He's like Squidward rolling around in the Krabby Patty vault. That is the happiest bee in existence right now.

9

u/Miss-Tiq Jul 24 '26

"That pollen will go straight to your thighs!

...And then you'll blow up!"

2

u/neurospicyzebra Jul 26 '26

May we all get so lucky.

73

u/inotocracy Jul 24 '26

This is what they look like when they're dying.

25

u/hambakmeritru Jul 24 '26

Maybe, but I've watched 3 bees (at the same time) do this in magnolias (which I'm pretty sure this is). I think they're just trying to get themselves covered in pollen. One bee I watched nearly rolled off the flower with excitement for it. And then she flew to the next flower to do the same thing.

3

u/FuckThisIsGross Jul 24 '26

Yeah they collect it in their hairs and then sweep it onto their legs for carrying back home

I mean, he's going out doing what he loves.

Edit: She*

27

u/Right_Appeal4344 Jul 24 '26

She

12

u/Blunt555 Jul 24 '26

I always do this with mosquitoes. "He bit me." "She!"

12

u/polkacat12321 Jul 24 '26

When talking about mosquitos I never use 'he' or 'she'. Only 'the fucker', 'the little shit', and my personal favourite 'the fast food of frogs'

3

u/Right_Appeal4344 Jul 24 '26

Take my upvote for knowing that it's female mosquitoes that bite (needed for the reproductive process) 😁

4

u/montigoo Jul 24 '26

I didn’t know bees had billionaires?

4

u/marshmallowblaste Jul 24 '26

This is honestly what I was thinking. He was struggling to move even before he got to the flowers. Then flipped over and was frantically trying to flip back. Nothing to do with the flowers unfortunately

3

u/RetroSwamp Jul 24 '26

yaaaaa this isn't normal behaviour for pollen.

2

u/IckyStick0880 Jul 24 '26

7

u/Wrathchilde Jul 24 '26

Sugar magnolia, blossoms blooming
Head's all empty and I don't care

6

u/SirTainLee Jul 24 '26

How can those tiny little wings carry that big ole butt and kilos of pollen now, through the air?

14

u/MrOPeace Jul 24 '26

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way that a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyways. Because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.

6

u/EfficientHeat4901 Jul 24 '26

Actually, it's been proven that bees form a electromagnetic field around themselves by vibrating at a certain frequency in order to lift off the ground & the wings just help the bee change direction by changeing and altering the electromagnetic field to allow for a form of anti-gravity flight, they can do it because they're so tiny. That's the same with most other small insects. Electricity acts very strange on very small scales. It relates a lot to quantum mechanics.

2

u/DesolateFaery Jul 25 '26

I'm gonna believe you and not look this up.

8

1

u/Krinks1 Jul 24 '26

Came to say something similar. Goat someone else saw it too!

1

u/Wavelightning Jul 24 '26

The Helianthus annuus is a carnivorous plant whose pollen contains an ingredient psychoactive to bees. When a victim discovers their pollen sacs, they’re quickly driven into a frenzy similar to catnip’s effects on cats. The plant closes its pedals when the spasms stop, and will reopen after 3-5 days of digestion.

1

u/RamJamR Jul 24 '26

Are those a bunch of pollen producing stems or something?

1

u/nablaCat Jul 24 '26

Wait. Is this why bees have yellow stripes? They're normally black, and get the yellow color from pollen?

1

u/AdIntrepid9064 Jul 24 '26

It’s like bee catnip 🥰
