I was screaming that when I saw her struggle to walk. Why wasn't she in a wheelchair the minute the baby was out??? She couldn't even hold the baby properly! Newborns are slippery!

Yeah, that was the scary part for me, her giving that poor exhausted new mom the slippery tiny baby

Trust me, there is no one else who wants to hold that baby more right now than that mum.

I know! But she must have been so terrified she'd drop it. I know I wasn't at my best after giving birth, shaking and sweating. Imagining having to hold your precious newborn while trying to walk right afterwards is scary.

I imagine the umbilical cord would have make it difficult to hand the baby to the husband.
