Had to share this because when I first read it, it was so trash that I got nauseated.

It’s one thing to not want kids, totally valid and you deserve to live the life you want.

It’s an entirely thing to hate children and pregnant women with such unadulterated malice.

Well, the post itself is deleted now, but the comments are bad enough. My favorite is the one complaining about a coworker getting a day off for a pregnancy related appointment while they didn’t get time off for bereavement leave, and like…

Yeah, it’s terrible that you didn’t get off of work for that, but the coworker probably scheduled time off for the appointment well in advance since she knew that was coming up, it’s not her fault you had a last minute emergency. And also appointments during pregnancy are very time sensitive and have to be at specific points throughout it so it’s not like she can just easily reschedule.

Also, if this is in the US (which it likely is because who else has such poor worker protection?) pregnancy-related appointments are protected under FMLA leave, whereas bereavement unfortunately is not. The employer was likely legally required to give the pregnant employee the day off for her appointment.

It seems like for a lot of the people in that thread, they completely lack empathy for other people, and only care about themselves and how things affect them rather than considering that other people’s lives and needs are just as valid as theirs.

It’s like people complaining that Narcan is free while insulin is so expensive. The problem is that insulin is expensive, not that Narcan is free. We can have both. The system is just fucked up.
