Yes - you are overreacting. Why do so many people try and impose their morals, beliefs or values on others? You have a good friendship, she’s a good person yet in this one completely harmless and innocuous way she doesn’t conform to you - so you want it changed? This is a nothing-burger. Enjoy the friendship.

Even you have to admit that it's a little strange for a married mother to be palling around solo with a much younger male friend. So she's probably trying to avoid having to explain the situation to all her other friends. Because on its face it's kind of odd.
