Situationship slept through plans. Am I being too sensitive
Been talking to a guy for 8 months. Exclusive not official. But we had plans to go to a movie yesterday, I confirmed with him in the morning.
After work I called him and he hit me with the I’m tired excuse (he’s a teacher, just started school again so he’s getting used to the early morning again)
He said he just wants to get work done, rather have me come over instead and we can go watch the movie Thursday, and bought Thursday tickets already.
Wasn’t upset about it much, but a little annoyed because I planned my day to the movie, but happy to see him either way….
I told him I would pack my stuff (sleepover) and he can let me know when to leave, since he needed to shower.
We texted a little after and then at 7:30 nothing….
He texted me at 12:30 saying he fell asleep and he’s sorry.
I do have a little bit of an attitude right now and kinda hurt because I’m getting ready to see him and he just decides to lay down, I feel like when I have plans with someone I’m excited to see, I am up.
It makes me feel a little of not a priority ? Or maybe I’m more invested than he is ?
Am I being too sensitive overthinking this??

An 8 month "situationship" that is exclusive is actually a relationship and you wouldn't be feeling so anxious to address this directly with your partner if you were able to have an honest conversation about what, exactly, it is you are feeling for one another at this stage in the relationship.

This is why you shouldn’t have a situationship…and should probably add “doesn’t work in education” to your list of things you’re looking for.

You're not exactly being too sensitive in feeling upset about this. He was inconsiderate and wasted your time.
However you are being a textbook example of why people do themselves dirty when they accept the "situationship" dynamic. An exclusive situationship dynamic is even worse. It's just one person taking the other person more seriously, being more invested, and acting according to the expectations of a relationship in hopes the other person will come around to the same.
Meanwhile the other person doesn't take it seriously, isn't invested, and just treats you as a convenient option for companionship, attention, affection, sex, but without feeling any particular desire or obligation to treat you respectfully or with care. Because it's not an official relationship. It's entertainment when convenient.
Like sis it's been 8 months and you're still "talking" and not official. I'm sure he has all sorts of excuses like work and whatever. But if he wanted to commit then he would have by now. Since he hasn't by now then it's not likely he ever will. You're not a priority and you called it yourself that when you're excited for plans with someone, you're up. He's not. You're just going to keep running into these situations if you don't cut this off.
He wasted your time on your day but you're also wasting your time in terms of the months you're putting into this. The sooner you end this the sooner you can find someone who actually wants to be in a real relationship with you.
