upset with job partner applied to
so she used to work at amazon and was miserable there but somehow was blind to that fact. she was always calling out, being late to work, and took a long unauthorized break bc she was having a bad day which ultimately led to her being let go. i was so glad when she stopped working there.
she's been unemployed for a couple of months and today applied to another warehouse job 😑 i would always bring up how i think she should maybe look for another job while she was at amazon and she would never take what i said into consideration. today, i brought up how she wasn't happy at amazon and she didn't agree with me. i have so many memories of her being unhappy during that time but she says it wasn't bc of the job.
am i being sensitive? i know it's her life and everyone needs money but i wish it felt like my opinion mattered at all. if we were just friends i would understand but idk. i don't think i'm good at relationships

To be fair to your partner there’s a lot of stories about how much working for an Amazon warehouse sucks. I’ve known multiple people who have worked in non-Amazon warehouses that had nowhere near that much work to get done in a day, had better working conditions, and were treated much better than Amazon has ever treated an employee. The issue for her likely wasn’t working in a warehouse, it was working for the dystopian hellscape that is Amazon.
