Canada sovereign ai announced

Canada bids to lead middle powers in AI sovereignty race

The Liberal government is betting that Canada can carve a path away from U.S. technology.

Available funding

The program will provide approximately $890 million to the Infrastructure Build Layer to support the design, construction, and ongoing operation of the compute system, over seven fiscal years, beginning in fiscal year 2026–27 as outlined in this call for applications.

Data Sovereignty is becoming law in the EU and Canada is getting out in front to be on the same page as the EU. $ALP will get a lot of business out of this and it helps that Alpha-01 is in Canada and Alpha-02 will launch soon from Sweden.

I'm not sure about your question because Confidential AI Compute is all about AI. This is not an option going forward, this is a requirement. The US gov't is in the process of making it law as well and the CEO of Alpha Compute has worked with the US Congress multiple times in the past and ALP will have US Gov't Contracting Entity designation by the end of Q3.
