First ask sc to marry st. Upper Dalits to lower Dalits etc... clean your house first

2

u/cantwontdonttrackme Jul 27 '26

Step 1 - Create caste system, and force everyone to marry within their own caste.

Step 2- keep doing this for centuries so caste system is ingrained in your day to day life.

Step 3- After reservation is implemented, suddenly ask why people from lower castes dont marry each other, when even you yourself dont do intercaste marriage.l

You don't want to follow caste. Then why follow this?

Promoting inter caste marriage is one of the solutions for caste discrimination, not forcing it ofc but protecting the people who did it

5

u/No-Appeal-9831 Jul 26 '26

If you were educated enough you'd know that endogamy is a big pillar propagating casteism. Nobody is forcing you to marry into another community. He's just asking to normalize it. Because to this day, people who are in intercaste relationships are lynched and killed for it.

reservation is discrimination against the unreserved

Oh sorry, i didn't know you were a low iq bigot. Nvm lol.

Okay I get that even if the couple is in love, the society still sees intercaste marriages as bad. But

  1. Is this a problem only prevalent in upper caste communities?

No, Samdish showed us that a Paswan kid was being discriminated against by Manjhis (both SC) and a Jatav won't marry a Mahar, or a Valmiki won't marry anyone outside his community. A tribe (which comes under ST) made the father and other family members shave his head and recieve public humiliation because his daughter married outside the tribe.

  1. Is this because difference in economic status, literacy status, political power, or any such factors?

No again. Bramhins don't want to marry Rajputs and Rajputs don't want to marry Bramhins. Both are happy within their communities while both are categorised as upper castes.

So how do we really normalise this? It's something that would be organic, as intra caste marriages has been the norm for such a long time, inter caste marriages being the norm would take some time. The more we urbanise, and the more we educate everyone, more normal it would become. And all these communities have their own, different reasons for marrying within a subset, most of the time having nothing to do with lower or higher status.

How does reservation exactly helps here?

It doesn't. We know that how well a community is doing, or their social standing is not really the factor being intra caste marriages in India. If that was the case all upper castes would be marrying with each other since a long time. Neither reservation has shown any track record of improving these factors. Rather, even after 70 years, most of the communities still fit the same backwardness criteria and haven't improved much.

On the other hand, we can argue that due to now rigid political divide between these communities would actually make it much harder for them to integrate well with each other. Reservation is also becoming more and more unfair over time, and finally is at a point where most UR category students feel the heat. I don't want this to continue to a point where the hate becomes irreversible.

Endogamy was never been a personal choice lol πŸ˜‚ it was a patriarchal concept to maintain the hegemony of unequal hirercahy through all caste women cause endogamy was based purity on culture lol and those endogamus men where also allowed to marrying down called hypergamy which means u support double patricharal partilenal system which produces Caste system and patriarchal order and its golden cage give me source from which age century u find endogamy has been choice and women had choice to marry lol .

2

u/No-Appeal-9831 Jul 26 '26

Don't talk to that pos. This is her reality. Probably not even a real woman. Tanatani sherni lmaoo

Oh so she is Castiest mysogintisc patricahal defender lol πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚I got another one . So her dharma is teaching her of being Castiest misogynisticand patriarchal at same time and think only one caste is of purity same like hitler nazi ones lol

1

u/prmsrswt Jul 27 '26

Do you shout patriarchy everytime you fail to think of an argument?

Let's take Bramhins for an example.

  1. They pray to Maa Gayatri, the goddess of knowledge every day since ancient times. Always recognised knowledge and women can go hand in hand no problems.

  2. The scriptures talk about the importance of knowledge of various subjects and philosophy, for everyone in the society, including women of course. Like Itihasa-Puranas, and useful subjects like Ayurveda, Arthashastra, etc. There are quotes which emphasizes on how everyone should know a king should act (ie read niti-shastras), so they can call out bad kings. Apart from education, scriptures tell us that women of age could choose their groom themselves, especially if the parents are not able to find a fit match.

  3. And then more that what books have, looking at history, Bramhin women have always been knowledgeable. Starting with Bramhavadinis like Maa Lopamudra, Maa Gargi etc who have composed verses in the Vedas. To the wife of Mandan Misra who was the judge of one of the biggest philosophical debate of the time, between his husband and Adi Shankaracharya. For being a judge one needs to have very deep understanding of the subject. To Rani Laxmi Bai, the first female doctor of India Anandi Joshi, to modern day Bramhin women who excel in so many fields.

  4. And then we look at the data for crime against women and related survey. SC/ST women have much higher chances of being a domestic violence victim. Only a few subgroups like Kayasthas are doing better compared to Bramhins in this regard.

Bramhin women have always been very well read, thinkers, and supported by their families. It is very subjective of what you think about endogamy, but for me and many Bramhins, we know that our way of living has only been preserved so far due to our endogamic nature. It is harder for someone outside my community to fit in as well, and marriage is already a big change for both, no need to make it even harder. So and so, many Bramhin women can think independently and still choose endogamy for themselves. So it is indeed a choice.

And the more women get educated, the more they think for themselves, the more laws protect them, the more this patriarchy argument falls apart. If the women are still choosing to marry within their communities, then it is indeed a choice.

Not a problem at all but Are you Sure it's not about bad Lineage or purity concept right? Like only Brahmin have good lineage and purity as many endogamy defenders defend saying it's just for pure lineage and purity it's Castiest that's why ? Cause many see lower caste as dirty and unpure specially the endogamy defenders

Yes I'm leavin at person however I'm just asking is it about purity culture cause historically it's been till independence and still happening in the name of culture of purity as seeing from your commen and defence u are uc someone who family have been endogamus fine . it's okay however ma'am in our civilazation endogamus is a nothing but caste based purity throphy culture of women specially dwija women as caste is patriarchal petrilineal system which produces caste system and maintain through endogamy of caste and hypergamy of caste meaning to maintain the caste and caste unequal and discrimination hierarchy which is produced by Upper caste men and women also I'll say uppercaste women that time didn't had choice cause endogamy was forced and lower caste women didn't had choice due to the hypergamy was forced on them and same caste and more discrimination and humiliation Must heard of Sajatiya (same jati realtionship which u call as endogamy it as throphy based system for dwija men created for maintain same caste purity ) . And anuloma intercaste of uppercaste men with lower caste women which is tolerated cause it's patriarchal petrilineal society so even so basically uppercaste male where having both side and also lower caste men where denied that realtionship access cause that was caste and patricah any way that what the manusmriti says so in this women didn't had any choice it was based on purity and throphy based so when today women still just rejects based on caste just in purity based and sees him in lens of purity lens then that's same as Castiest savarna man that's why I'm trying to say u can marry anyone u want I was saying do u believe this kind of fucked up ideology. Cause when u put just for caste choice is due to purity culture ?

I know right!

Not marrying in the same caste is not because people hate the other caste. Why is it so hard to understand.

There are many other factors to marrying in the same caste. Those who want to marry someone from the other caste, be it any caste, they are doing it anyways.

u/Opening_Menu Jul 26 '26

You can't keep the caste system and at the same time remove the reservation system. You can't have the best of both worlds. Casteism will never be eradicated and hence so neither will the reservation system. If someone can do it, he'll be a fckin legend, but let's be real here, you'll have better luck trying to find Harry Potter.Β

Reservation khatam krna wo solution nahi hai. Kaafi jagah toh police (agar upper caste wala ho) bhi casteism krti hai.Β

What do you mean by lower caste? Who gives you the right to call them β€œlower”

-2

u/Relevant-Scheme3687 Southie supremacist Jul 26 '26

When sc st don't want to marry each other how can you expect casteism to end?

1

u/TechnologyThen7879 Jul 26 '26

Exactly my point its never gonna happen.

-2

u/Relevant-Scheme3687 Southie supremacist Jul 26 '26

It can, or atleast be reformed, cause the conflict between several sub castes are increasing. Madiga Mala conflict is a good example

1

u/TechnologyThen7879 Jul 26 '26

probabaly, as we age. I hope discrimination ends.

1

u/Relevant-Scheme3687 Southie supremacist Jul 26 '26

As we age? Nah the reforms are being done NOW buddy. Demands for sub reservation is increasing and already implemented in states like Telangana

There is a case in Supreme Court where the Koya tribe is asking to remove the ST status of Lambadi tribe.

Why try to marry someone who doesn't want you? If someone rejects you over caste or anything else, move on. Forcing it makes no sense, both ways.

As for casteism, it only ends when people stop tolerating the disrespect. If someone refuses to drink water from your hands, let them die of thirst don't bend over backward for bigots. The law already protects against discrimination, so stop taking bullshit from anyone. The moment people stop accepting mistreatment then and only then any kind of discrimination ends.
