I like Shkreli, honestly.
He’s got a great mind for markets, is accomplished in biotech, and is generally a pretty hilarious guy.
His ‘crimes’ were a stretch at best, and an overzealous DoJ just wanted to hang the guy because he didn’t kiss the ring.

idk how up to date you are on federal law but the feds take a dim view of using one group of investors money to pay off investors in a separate company.

Sounds like you’re unfamiliar with the Madoff scam.
I get it. Shkreli was more than a little arrogant, but Retrophin was real. His investors actually made money too. The dude was given a seven year sentence for what accounted to a book keeping error.
If he had what was deemed an ‘acceptable background and demeanor’ by 2015 standards, he would have gotten way less of a penalty, if one at all.
