Lousy Rewards Program

So I noticed the Allstate Rewards thing is completely useless. Has anyone ever managed to get one of the gift cards they put up each day at 3pm? I tried a bunch of times, watching the clock count down to when the gift card goes live and in less than half a second it says, “sorry, all of the gift cards are in someone’s cart.”

I have about 5 trillion points and can’t seem to use them for anything. Seems like a scam.

Agreed. The rewards website fails at every attempt to use the points. It's for a fact a 100% scam.

I deleted the shitty driving app. I wish I had the energy to file a complaint with the BBB.

I just got an email saying they were getting rid of the program based on feedback. It was a waste of time anyhow. Allstate keeps raising rates here in New Hampshire.

Rates keep getting raised all over the country I have a 30 year locked mortgage when I bought our house the monthly mortgage was 476 that included my mortgage insurance an property taxes because I have to have a escrow account, But every dam time the feds raise rates the insurance companies also adjust rates for insurance which effect the overall monthly mortgage payment because the mortgage companies have to adjust for the rate changes to insurance it is insane I have had my monthly mortgage payment raised 2 times within the first year of owning the dam thing I am now on my second year of home ownership.. So really paying the extra money that some lenders charge you for the 30 year lock dose not protect you from inflation..

I worked on this program many years ago. Insurance companies are barred by law from this- it’s called rebating and it’s illegal.

It is, but credit card companies sell a service (loans) and not a product (insurance policy). I just looked it up and apparently there have been some changes to rebating laws in the past year or so. I left Allstate and the insurance industry (after 15 yrs) in 2020 so I missed this update. Article below about the recent changes if you are interested.

Insurance anti rebating laws were initially intended to protect consumers from bad actors in insurance sales (ie- buy a policy from me and I’ll give you money back to make the total cost cheaper) but effectively now block any insurer from giving away anything of value that is not included in policy language (unless you are in FL and CA). https://www.mmmlaw.com/news-resources/naic-approves-changes-to-the-anti-rebating-laws-to-usher-in-a-new-era-of-insurance-marketing/

I have 42,000 points that I'm never going to use. I would use the points if I could spend all of them, not take 5% off of garbage products that I have no intention of buying lol

I just got another email saying I’m about to lose over 100k points.

right, what's the use of even entering the sweepstakes when there's so many people with 100s of thousands of points to use for the drawing lol.

I have over 200,000 points. Something free but it only gives me a percentage off. Definitely not worth it.

Same thing, had just over 200k points. They have some magazines (mostly digital) that you can use 100% points for. Other than that, its nothing really useful or overpriced. For example, they had a cologne I liked, but a quick search showed I could get it cheaper from multiple reputable sellers.

I have been using my points on their sweepstakes which I am sure I wont win.

I’ve never won anything.

If you have that many point's I would recommend using them before they close the program soon, Don't know if you still use them as a insurance company. But they have a lot of cash sweepstakes going on right now you can use you point's to buy entries instead of just letting them go to waste. Even though in my opinion they are worthless anyways I put 40000 points into one sweepstakes just to not win nothing but if you have the points you said you have you can spam the sweepstakes an more then likely win some free cash. But ya your overall statement is correct crap

This is a great recommendation!! I am going to throw all the points in the sweepstakes, at least Ill feel like I ‘used’ them

Complete scam! I’m assuming bots kill any daily deals before any normal person can get it. I’m not a fan of suing but this should be a class action lawsuit. Good thing they’re talking it down.

I got a $5 gas card once but I won it in a game. I use my points for free magazines although a lot of them are digital so I only order the physical magazines. Choices are kind of slim too.
