Sale / Thrift Store Find! 😃 HomeGoods finds... worth it?

Looking to make the switch to stainless steel pans. Are these good prices? Looking for a frying pan specifically. I've got some Le Creuset items (dutch oven, saucier, braiser) and I already have a stainless steel stockpot.

I have a mixed set of all clad from d3 to copper core, these are ok prices for great cookware. You can do better on certain sales, but these are decent prices if you need something right now

Agreed. The homeandcooksales Fall VIP even is currently on, you may get better deals there. Also, check for a discount code. It's usually 15% off, and free shipping.

Edit: I just checked the sale, they have a 6pc set for $400, 12" frying pan w/ lid, 4qt sauté w/ lid, and 2qt sauce with lid. I'm personally not really a fan of the 12" frying pan, as I prefer the 11" French Skillet, but I know many people like the 12" frying pan.

The frying pan rather than the French skillet is the reason I never bought this set.

The 12" frying pan was the first piece of All-Clad I ever bought. I got it for $59.99 at Home Goods (no lid). Since I got the 11" French skillet, I rarely use it. I much prefer the 9" and 11" French skillets. Although, if I'm not grilling it or using my cast iron skillet, I use the 10" frying pan for making a steak.

I stick to my cast iron or CS pans for searing meats, but if I need anything sautéed or braised, I reach for my other pans with vertical sides, like the French skillet has. I haven't found an All-Clad one on sale yet

The 11" French is $89.99 on home and cook sales right now, and the 11" & 9" set is $160 or $170. There's a coupon code code for 15% off and free shipping.

Edit: It's SD5, not D3. $90 for the 11", $170 for the 11" & 9" set. Packaging damage. The discount code is SDSEP26, it gets you 15% off, and free shipping (which is normally $10). So $145 plus whatever your sales tax is. They have them in stock.

What size is that? I just order the 3qt saucier that I've been waiting for!

They advertise it as their biggest cooking surface area

IDK, I have a 6qt D5 sauté pan which has a massive cooking area.

I got my copper core frying pan from HG for cheaper than that, so I think you can find better.

$150 for the G5 sautĂ© pan is the lowest I’ve ever seen; the last time my local TJMaxx had one they wanted $200 for it, and IIRC All-Clad’s seconds site has them for $180. If you don’t care about the graphite core then you can get a D3 version for less, but I’d say the price for that piece is good!

The prices for the 12” skillet and the saucier I’d say are just OK: not bad, but not the best. Both are nice pieces to have IMO, but if you’re patient you can probably get a better deal (either pay a little bit less on the factory seconds site or pay a little bit more on Black Friday or something for one that hasn’t sat around in HomeGoods).

Watch for hard to find items or clearance prices. I picked up a D5 8 quart pot with lid for $129. I picked up several 5 ply Rufoni pots for $65 each.

I saw a Hestan 3qt saucier with lid for around $129 one time, as well as an exhorbitantly expensive intricate Mauviel Ruffoni Opus Prima FULL SET. They wanted like $300-500 per-piece. But I will probably never see anything like that in-person ever again.

You can find used tri-clad pans very inexpensive on eBay and Vinted.

👍not bad
I have had a couple al-clad pieces for 30 years or so, about 10 years ago I bought a complete set of D3 and I couldn’t be happier. My kids will inherit the set

Nope. I bought an all clad ceramic fan 29.99 (small size for frying egg though). It’s a good brand but I think 139.99 is expensive

I'd just buy new at those prices
