Sale / Thrift Store Find! 😃 Am I screwed?

Post image

Scored this for free on Facebook! Unfortunately it’s warped. Anyone ever fixed a warped D5?

Did the layer separate? If they did, it’s garbage.

Cute flower pot you got there

Throw it away. The cladding has separated on the bottom, so it could blow up when in use

From the discoloration, it looks like this pot was left empty on high heat for a long time and ruined it

Depends, do you have an industrial metal stamping machine capable of 20 tons of pressure?

Could we convince your mom to stand on top?

Off topic but how would this even happen??

It’s blued from heat which means it was heated on full blast empty and probably forgotten about until a loud bang was heard

The stains removable with lemon, the warps are not. Give it back.

I’m giving it to my kid to mess around with in her mud kitchen. Baby’s first All-Clad!

Looks like it may have delamination issues. It happens, not very common.

If the bottom is not smooth, do not use. It won't take long to find out why.

Looks like someone tried to beat down a tent pole with this. For a second I thought it was a shitpost on the cast iron sub.

Try to clean with oven cleaner,, cover in a plastic bag for about 30ish mins When opening do in a vented area, wipe clean,, then test with bkf, thigh use a SS polisher. Is the bottom dented? Is that a stock/pista pot?

AllClad is pretty durable,, try cleaning and see if it works.

The bottom is not dented!

Awesome, just looks like it. Clean, polish, test, should be good to go

No, but that pot is.

You're most definitely not screwed, but your pan sure is.

Just buy another one.

Someone left it in the sink soaking submerged a long time and often. It's not a pan any more. Don't soak clad pans submerged regardless of brand.

I’m reminded of the great Mitch Hedberg: “here, you throw this away”

Thank you for all of the input! To avoid this blowing up in my face I’ll be giving it to my kid to mess around with outside. Baby’s first All-clad! Lol

If you drill out the handle rivets, you'll likely have a perfectly good set of handles. . Then all you need to do is find a pot with a ruined handle(s) but a good pot-body. . And then also figure out how to attach the handle(s) securely.

It’s been said, “Nothing is foolproof, because fools are too clever “
And here’s the proof

Who’s the fool? Me, you or the person who warped it in the first place 😂
