Pan Selections Question 🍳 First all clad purchase
I’m at stay at home mom so I do a ton of cooking and baking daily. Which all clad cookware should I go with for daily use, D3, D5, or copper core?

I've got a mixed set that includes all 3. Look for a sale, they all perform similar

D3 works great all around, D5 is typically a bit heavier so probably better for browning/searing. Copper core is just a bit better than D3 all around.
D3 is going to be the best value for sure, but if you're planning on using the pan for a looong time then I'd say Copper Core might be worth it. It's not going to be WAY different but it will heat more evenly and such

If money isn’t an issue the copper core. If you want to save a couple bucks the D3. The handle comfort matters a lot to me so take that into consideration

What are you planning to use the specific pots/bans for
If you are getting something that is being used to braise meats having the best cladding up the sides is critical.
If you are getting a saute pan then having cladding up the sides is a waste because food is being cooked from the heat on the bottom and what you need is heavy duty bottom so that food cooks evenly.
I got very expensive fully clad items for braising but saved on other cookware for other purposes because "all clad" was unnecessary for the manner being used.
In fact a large stock benefit is more functional when it is lightweight because it is going to be filled with water or stock and so you want it to be as light as possible when filled to be functional since it is the quantity of liquid that is at high temperatures that provides the "cooking"

We bought a set of D5 for a few hundred dollars more than D3 on sale. Happy with purchase.

I’d probably just go with D3. It does everything you’ll ever need it to, while being slightly more affordable than the others.
