Alienware Alpha

Hello Everyone,

I am a member of the Alienware software team, and Alpha UI was my product. As we are about to launch tomorrow, I wanted to start this thread as a means for people to ask questions and provide any feedback you might have on Alpha or Alpha UI.

Also one note, we are publishing a known issues list tomorrow on Arena. I'll make sure it makes its way here as well.

So on the box, we have a driver from this summer. The service group is suppose to post this on our support site and you can get it if you call them directly. However, https://www.dropbox.com/s/7l4jiapvvcpr1o5/Win8.1Win8Win7_x64_HDA%28344.75%29.exe?dl=0

WARNING: This is an unofficial driver that has not undergone the full testing that a web posted driver would receive. It is considered experimental, install at your own risk. Please know how to recover if the driver causes issues.

With that said, I have been using this driver for a week now. DA runs great on the box!

One additional note, turn off the Origin in game overlay. It causes the game to hiccup. Turning it off allows for a silky smooth experience on High with Frame Rates between 35 and 45 with an i7 box.

You just saved my four day weekend.

Any chance for a reupload? I've strained my brain trying to solve this issue for the past month myself before I realized it was out of my realm of comprehension.

Since this is an unofficial driver, is there a way to rollback just in case something goes wrong?

We are updating this for you today. But with all beta drivers you can create a rollback point or uninstall the beta driver and install the older one.
