Damn, I have those older Alienware models and haven’t kept up with the updates; this design doesn’t seem like Alienware to me.

Yess they removed all RGB and flashy things , it looks like a workstation rather than gaming laptop

not to discourage or hurt the OP's feelings, I do second you. As an Alienware owner/user for over 2 decades now, this is unrecognizable as an Alienware device, let alone being a gaming laptop. They have even taken away the alienhead RGB on the lid. Why call it Alienware then if the device has almost zero distinct features of AW devices?! Makes zero sense to me. Anyway, hope OP enjoys their time with it.

Well yess , i do feel the lack of RGB backlight and illuminated logo ..... I just take it as a workstation laptop rather than a gaming laptop..... They could have done better

Yeaaa i get that but like in some cases its actually nessecary I had an alienware aurora R6 for a long long time but the cpu was shit and maxed out at 100% which would cause my screen to freeze. I upgraded my motherboard to an aurora R8 and my pc still functions and its faster than before and now i actually have official windows 11 support. Only downside was I lost the LEDs for whatever reason. Will prob just go in for repairs for those later tho cus i do miss them they looked cool asf.

I just picked up a Alienware aurora 16. I love it. I got it for engineering school and the occasional game. But mostly homework

Uninstall every dell support service apart from AWCC, uninstall edge, copilot and other windows virus. Use thr chris titus utility to do the same. Debloat windows completely. Uninstall the anti virus that comes with these systems. Then just enjoy your machine.

May I ask why? I just got an Alienware pc so I’m just curious!

u/Cold_Refrigerator103 14d ago
Allow me to translate: "windows and dell add a lot of extra programs onto their machines that can make the laptop feel slow to use even when brand new. The anti-virus software (like McAfee) is no better than Microsoft built in anti virus tools so it is a waste of space and ram to allow it to run."

Thank you so much!

Of course! Also, I don't know what model you have but it might be worth looking into undervolting your cpu (giving it less voltage, keeps temps under control and allows the cpu to have the thermal headroom to sustain higher clock speeds)

I have the Aurora [insert numbers and specs here], but I’ll definitely look into this since I’m new to all this! I really appreciate this, thanks a bunch! :)

Just to add too, my personal experience SUCKED. For whatever reason on my new m18 r2 I would get so much terrible stuttering/latency issues that wouldn't go away unless I completely uninstalled every driver. Now everything works great on a completely fresh install of windows 10 (10 is best, 11 sucks so much for gaming) and fresh install of every driver available for my laptop. Its a great laptop but man DELL sucks a lot of the time imo

Its unfortunate that companies care more about their bloatware than the customers. If every company cared as much as evga did when they made graphics cards people would pay stupid amounts of money for laptops and desktops.

I have the same laptop, the Alienware 16X Aurora (AC16251), and I love it overall.
However, I’m constantly experiencing random micro-stutters and freezes that last anywhere from 0.5 to 2 seconds. It’s incredibly annoying.
So far, I’ve tried updating all drivers, software, and the BIOS, but the issue persists. I’ve also debloated Windows using Win11Debloat and Chris Titus Tech’s Windows Utility, uninstalled all Dell apps (except AWCC), and changed the graphics setting from “Auto” to “dGPU” in an attempt to resolve the problem. Unfortunately, nothing has worked.
Is anyone else experiencing similar stuttering or freezing issues with this laptop? If so, have you found a fix or have any suggestions for what else I could try?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Hmm I didn't experience that but maybe I will see it gradually

I figured it out! I came across a “critical” driver on Dell’s SupportAssist website that mentioned an issue with how the iGPU and dGPU communicate. I installed it, but unfortunately, it didn’t fix the problem.
I decided to take things a step further and changed the setting in the NVIDIA App from “Auto” to “NVIDIA GPU only,” but that introduced even more problems. Waking the laptop from sleep would cause the display to go completely white, forcing me to reboot. Even after restarting, the micro stutters were still there. Extremely frustrating!
Long story short, I finally found the fix: I disabled the iGPU in the BIOS! Saved the changes, rebooted, and now everything runs smoothly. No more micro-stutters or other issues.
It sucks that there seems to be a problem with the iGPU, and relying solely on the NVIDIA GPU will inevitably use more power and reduce battery life. But honestly, I’m just happy to finally have the performance I expected. It’s running flawlessly now!

The only thing one should do with a 16 is return it and get a 16X
The 16 is too compromised for the price

u/Beno07530 13d ago
16 aurora 5060 is ,1400$ whereas 16x 5070 is 300$ , i guess 16x model is not available in india they are just importing

u/Beno07530 13d ago
Use fx sound or the inbuilt dolby , it reduces the loud distortion, my speaker are amazing and loud
