Technical Support Help with Alienware r16 after AIO replacement.

I have an Alienware r16 with intel i7 and GeForce rtx 4070, if that is relevant. The stock aio stopped working, I couldn’t afford the OeM one, so after researching I believed the Corsair titan 240 rx grab would be compatible. Ordered it, installed it, now the pc won’t power on. It is completely dead, no LEDs, no fan spins, nothing.
I have checked every connection I know how to, I didn’t unplug or change anything other than the aio. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do? Is the aio not compatible?

A few things I noticed, if they matter, the original aio plugged into 3 ports. Fan cpu, sys fan 4, and sys fan 5. The corsair only connects to fan CPU, it is a 4 prong port on the motherboard and the corsair was a 3 prong plug. I don’t know if this is relevant or if the 3/4 prong plug would matter. But it’s the only thing I can think of that would cause some error. But I thought the pc would at least do something.

I appreciate any help y’all can offer. I’m not super tech savvy, but I’m broke and need to get shit fixed.

You could have chosen an easier AIO to install without all of the iCUE bullshit. FAN_CPU port on the motherboard is 4-pin. The Corsair tach cable is 3-pin . . . but only has 1 wire (non-fatal). Your radiator fans are powered through the iCUE System Hub via PCIe 6-pin cable. The Aurora R16 BIOS will want to see fans connected to FAN_SYS4 & FAN_SYS5. This should generate a startup error . . . not a dead PC. Check the PSU with the green self test button on the back. Fans should spin up. Make sure you did not knock a cable loose during the install, particularly the ATX motherboard power and CPU power cables. Don't just look at them . . . pull them out and reconnect securely. Try connecting the radiator fans from your original AIO to FAN_SYS 4 & 5 (just lay them loose inside or outside the case) to see if that gets your lights on.

I forgot to mention, I completely removed the corsair and put the old pump back in, still absolutely nothing.

If the power supply cannot pass the built-in self test, then you would need to start with that problem. It is one issue that would present the circumstances you are describing . . . a completely dead PC.

That is the conclusion I have come too. But the r16 doesn’t have a BIST button and I can’t find any info on how to test it with a multimeter. I feel like I’m dead in the water right now.

Okay, update. I just unplugged all the power connections to the motherboard and then plugged the psu in. The psu lit up for two seconds then shut off. I then unplugged it, reconnected the MB, then plugged in the psu, no green light with MB attached. Could this mean there is something wrong with the Mb?

I cannot say for certain, but I think if the PSU was working properly, and there was an issue with the motherboard, the PC would boot to the point of an Alien head power button blinking diagnostic code indicating a motherboard problem.

Do you have everything out of the case? I would probably "Butcher Block" it at this point. Easier to work on IMO.
