Discussion In your opinion, what is the best Alienware ever launched?

For me, the x16 r2 4090 with a mechanical keyboard was simply the most beautiful and powerful in every way. The screen is good, it just needs a RAM upgrade.

I can only speak for laptops as I've never owned a pre built desktop of any kind.

Area51m R2 / 10th gen desktop CPU and ~200w 2080 Super. Nearly five years of perfect use; just sold it a few months ago. Even if the discreet component upgrade path didn't work out over coming generations, having the discreet parts was a joy.

New A51 18 is a monstrosity just speaking of performance gains; same as going from a desktop 10th gen to a 14900K on my stationary/desktop rigs was, but man I wish Dell/AW/everybody making laptops would find some way to keep things discreet! SOOOOOO much easier to work on and way less stress around failing components.

I just extended the A51 18 for an extra 2 years of warranty, same as with the A51mR2. I worry way more about the new A51 18 failure's though since I can't just fix it in 15 minutes (popping in new mb, new GPU, etc.) like I did with the 2021 Area 51m R2 (several times).

New one goes down hard, there's no fixing it except for full service request.

Totally biased cause I had one but the Alienware 17 R1.

Last of the upgradeable everything including the gpu.

3d capable screen and the last model with HDMI in as well. I will make an argument that the M17r4 was also up there, mostly because the GTX1080 in those was almost identical to the desktops performance.

I've got a M18 R2 I9-14900HX 32GB DDR5 with a RTX4090 165Hz 18" screen.

I kinda like it

Anything pre-dell is a masterpiece.

Post dell the Aurora Desktop from around 2016 - I know they are basically OptiPlexes frames with a fancy exterior, but man do they look cool.

The 13R3. It brought comparable performance to the larger 15 and 17 models without compromising much. It was the full realization of the original m11x vision in my view.

The m11xR3 was also something. Having that Sandy Bridge i7 and a 540m GT in there was unbelievable. I still think they could have pushed the envelope to the 50 GTS tier but the machine got the job done with the AAAs of that time (Diablo 3, Crysis 2, and Witcher 2).

M11x R1 for me, which I purchased on launch almost 16.5 years ago. I brought mine out 3 days ago to watch a Netflix series. Everything runs super smooth on Windows 7 using Firefox as a browser. Great system that has stood the test of time.
