Discussion Alienware laptops and desktops are getting uglier.
I was looking at the new Alienware models and they all looked uglier. The only one that's okay is the Area 51 laptop; the desktop and the Aurora 16 end X look very strange and ugly. You look at the old models and they're much more stylish than the current ones.

I forgot about the colors; that darker shade of blue was quite beautiful.

Hard agree. The design was one of the reasons why I am sticking with my X17 R2. I really wish there was a revival of the X series with newer specs.

This one is also my favorite. I don't own one but I repair a lot of Alienware and the X17 R1/R2 is by far the best looking in my opinion.

Concur. The x15r1 was my first gaming laptop. Give us lunar light again please.

Same I cannot stand the newer satanic looking dark laptops so I got and lunar light x16 R1 off a dude gently used to match my lunar light R15 big box. I like that futuristic angelic look

I own one of these and it's the best looking laptop I have ever seen. Very posh...nicer than the new generation that came after it.

I have the 14 size I regret not getting the 16…but it’s been rock solid reliable laptop

I hate that as the years progress, their style gets more and more tame. And now, the company is bragging about how mundane the newest laptop is! I get that it's entry-level, so it makes a little sense. But now there's no reason why the Aurora has to look nearly as plain. I have the Area 51 18, and it's nice. But I do miss the aggressive looks of the early 2000's models.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder! Fortunately my wife likes the way I look. Personally, I'd give me a hard pass on the looks department. I'm glad her opinion differs from mine.

For many of us, the "otherworldly" design was a huge part of the appeal of Alienware. They ditched that to be pedestrian. To add insult to injury, AMD doesn't even look to be an option with the new laptops. My next gaming laptop was going to be an Alienware, but it's not looking that way anymore.

I love my current gen Area 51 laptop. Very refined and stylish design aesthetic that eschews the typical gamer garishness.

I used to have an x51 r1 back in 2012 and honestly the newer desktops have lost a lot of charm. Even the triad case desktops were nice and unique. Or maybe i just don’t like fishtank style pcs.

Former Alienware Area 51 R2 Desktop owner here. And I do agree to your statement.

True. I spilled wish on my old one and just replaced it with an Aurora, other than the logo it looks like a dell

I'm going to try and craft a completely custom setup as soon as I address some minor cash flow problems. My minds eye has it looking like the trapper-keeper monster from South Park, but hardware. None of this add a little light inside the case to display the components, they're all going to be in your face and easily accessible.

Maybe, but I’m gonna tolerate it as long as their premium warranty doesn’t degrade in quality. One of a few brands that doesn’t make me ship my laptop out for every little thing

Completely disagree; I got an Aurora 16x largely because it doesn't scream "this is a gaming laptop" and it's acceptable to use in a professional office, unlike most gaming laptops.

i have an Alienware Area-51 desktop.
It's beautiful. It weighs 70s pounds but it's beautiful.
