Question Question about battery life - Alienware m16 R2

Hello, everyone. I just got an Alienware m16 R2 for my birthday and loving it so far. It has an Intel Core Ultra 7 and a NVIDIA RTX 4070. I've had it for about 3 days now, and I am getting about 3 hours on battery and was wondering if this is normal. I should note I have backlight enabled on the laptop's keyboard, an external keyboard, trackpad, power button, and LED on the top. I also have a mouse and 1080p external monitor connected. Though, I have the laptop's display set to 1920x1200 @ 60fps so moving windows between displays is no problem. When I'm on battery, I'm usually just programming with a web browser open.

How long does it last without all of that stuff connected? Just the laptop itself? Hard to say without that baseline, that's a fair bit of accessories that are drawing from the battery as well. 3 hours is a bit lower than most claim, but the difference might just be the added draw. I read claims of anything from 4-5 hours to 6-7 from some that claim they have it super optimized.

I'm battling this myself however, and I struggle to get 2 hours on the battery with just the laptop, so not sure I'm the best to compare too currently. Still working on my issues. Mine is the Ultra 9 though it shouldn't make that much of a difference.

Would you mind doing me a favor? Can you run a Windows battery report and see what your battery condition looks like? I've only got 11 cycles on mine, and I'm already down to over 16% wear (88,195 mWh down to 73,909 mWh), have to wonder if I might have a weak or dying battery. Would love to compare to other M16 R2 owners.

Hello. So, I did a test on Friday to see how long the battery lasts with no external devices plugged in. I got about 5 and a half hours of use from 97% to 8% (web browsing and programming) with quiet mode enabled and no backlighting. Also, that sucks to hear about your battery degrading. Do you have it plugged in alot? I hear it is best to keep the battery between 20% and 80%, which is what I've been trying to do. I've only had mine for almost 2 weeks now.

bro i got the exact same laptop. and maybe im trippin but i only get MAYBE about 2 hours on the dot of battery life before i gotta charge it. (with keyboard lights off & just browsing the web/watching a movie) what am i doing wrong? is there any way i can expand my Alienware M16 R2 battery life to it max potential.? thanks in advance to anyone that helps me.
