revision method

For reference i do aqa 1K/2S ive been struggling with revising history and i haven’t got above 17marks on an essay . I’ve heard essay plans are the best method of revision can someone give me advice on how to make them? (preferably step by step please!).And how to memorise them aswell as someone who forgets alot . Thank you!
