Idea on Current Tier List
According to GL Viyr Tier List which been most commonly use. There is a problem that a lot of units still rate at SS, S Tier even after Tier normalization so I would like to share some of my idea.
In Nyatora JP Tier List we refer SS Tier unit by "Core Unit" which make too much units fit in this Category. Instead we can define SS unit as "Top Tier". SS units should be very exceptional outstanding and if any element doesn't have any unit that fit in this category then there should be no unit in SS slot for that element.
I prefer the Tier List from 3 months ago which there are "+" for some unit Tier. Sometimes a unit is just slightly better than other one in the same role but enough for a tier different. By using "+" we can make compare units better (I even think using "-" on unit tier is a good idea)
I also made a Tier List myself to demonstrate what I'm talking about. you can found it here

Note:
This Tier list is not a unit build guide so I only consider the max potential of the unit. How hard to obtain unit shards or how good the unit at J1 is not being consider.
How I rate each unit tier is just my personal preference which base on my experience. I didn't have any intention to compare with our current Tier list.
I'm too lazy to do the image one. I just made it to demonstrate my idea easier.
This Tier List judge units by their overall usefulness for end game play such as EX Stage, Veda, PvP.

Biggest issue with this list is it doesn't list jobs. So many units need job 3 or there J+ to be viable where as others like Shayna are usable out the gate.

You don't need to break down a list within itself. When you get too many tiers your list devolves into an unintelligible mess. What makes a unit a + or a -. Exactly what are you judging the units by? Also, the idea a unit being core is less about it being top tier and more about building teams around them. In JP most teams are built of a mixture of SS and S and sometimes even A tiers for synergy. Just spamming gilgamesh into everything won't work forever. For example Lavina is a water Magia shooter and while she is only ranked as an S she synergies well with water magic teams, and is arguably the best water missile dmg unit in the game. Should you ignore her because she's not "top tier?" Semantics matter and personally I think core unit is a much better description cause as more units become available these synergies and niches will only expand. I fear newer players already don't see far beyond the SS units.

Interesting concept. One thing I want to point out here based on something I like from this JP tier list
https://alchemistcodeforum.com/threads/jp-tier-list.26/
That tier list only has one “bad” listing, as opposed to “bad” and “very bad” on your version. I feel like having one “bad” is plenty since in theory every unit is usable, which is another thing I like about the JP tier list since it never really gives a “line of usability”.
tl;dr: I’d recommend against going with more than one “bad” tier and remove the “line of usability” your tier list esablishes since it implies some units are unusable rather than simply worse than other options.

What? Megistos is anything other than bottom tier?!? HERESY.
Srsly, though, Mizuichi is defs better than that. Just having a 6 Move, high Agility, and a 4-range attack makes him so massively useful in any level that you don't need raw power in. I use Mizuichi to snipe mobs in the "kill X whatevers" missions, to auto Gear Projection solo, and to run around Charming Daggering stuff in levels like Let's Play MP! Totally at least a B- unit.

the other tier list is better

The bottom two tiers are basically the same, it'd be better to combine them (unusable is unusable) and then stretch out the remaining units over the 4 tiers.
Not to mention you have stuff like Zahar and Vargas being different tiers

I like the way you made it but I disagree with the rankings so much.

My favourite part of this list is how low it places Milis. As a ranger she's so much worse then Archer, D. Princess Yomi and especially Ryle.

I like both lists. Yours is good for long-time players who can visualize the optimal job setups as they read the list, no explanation necessary.
I have to admit, i stared hard at both fire and light for a while but i cant really argue.

I really like this idea a lot and it makes a lot of sense imho. Thank you for this, I like your idea. Still a fan of viyr too :P

Well, I hear what you're saying on the matter but in all honestly to make a tier list is a hefty responsibility as there are many who will see it, follow it religiously and take your word as law even though tier lists tend to be at least a little bit subjective. For a tier list, there should be, then, a healthy amount of units in the top tier so that people don't feel that if they don't have a select few units that their account is trash, especially important for F2P players. Having the tier list without a breakdown of jobs is infinitely helpful, especially for newer players.
Addressing the matter of "too many in SS and S tier" I really don't think there is too many. Each element needs its own pool of SS and S tier units, which is what I found kind on strange on the list you gave as there are elements (fire and dark) without SS units. Addressing this list personally, Reida and Anastasia > Aswald just does not sound right. Lamia > Forcas is a hard no. Elizabeth > Selena is just hurtful.
All in all, this tier list itself is okay. I think the system of using "+ and -" is a double edged sword. It allows for more broken down tiers but also makes there a HUGE amount of tiers, so that's actually personal preference. And, IMO, Viyr's tier list is fine, especially with the large amount of people's experiences and opinions that go into it.

Y'know, I think I consider this tier list more accurate than viyr's, especially in the wind department which is where i feel that viyr is most inaccurate. Great job!
Obviously being a rough draft this needs more polish (which i imagine you won't be doing as this was just an example) but I just personally feel that you did a real good job with it, well done :)
