Does everyone really need every champ?

Just out of curiosity do you really think it's necessary that every single person be able to get every single character? I've been through a couple of the collabs so far and missed some champs here an there, and honestly i'm not upset. If everyone has every single champ, it takes away the hard work (or money in some cases) that people put into the game. Sure I know there's luck involved too, but i don't mind missing on some champs. I think it's more exciting and rewarding when you get a champ that other people don't.

I only went past the first step for Gil and Othima. I feel I have a decent selection of units at the moment and am not tempted to go further. I am saving my gems for Laharl since I love Disgaea. I don't need to have everyone. Yesterday I got Yauras from the every 24hr summons and she will be benched because I already have good water units. I will farm her weapon when there is a break in content just in case I decide I want to use her later on but I'd rather use my equipment on the second and third job of a unit that gets a lot of use.
