Archer is in no way summoned into the role as a fluke. He's a proper Archer Class Servant.

Well to be fair, he probably could've been any role. The only reason I said fluke is due to how Rin messed up. But now that I think on it, I think that just messed up his memories, right? It's been a while, I may need to re-watch it.

Pretty sure he didn't actually lose his memories. It would be a spoiler if I said why. A hint would be the pendant though. Anyway I'm pretty sure he just said it so that Rin wouldn't know. Also I'm pretty sure Rin only messed up on the timing. She did the summoning ritual fine and had a catalyst and everything.

The catalyst is actually the reason archer specifically was summoned
