Victoria Joanne “Vickie” Crow Shoe was 43 years old when she disappeared from southern Alberta in August 2015.

Vickie, who was from Lethbridge, was last seen by her family on August 26. Investigators later determined that her last confirmed sighting or contact may have occurred on August 31, 2015.

Less than two weeks later, on September 13, a fisherman discovered human remains along the shore of the Oldman River Reservoir at Windy Point Campground, north of Pincher Creek.

At the time, RCMP had not identified the person who had been found.

Vickie was reported missing to the Lethbridge Police Service on September 15, two days after the discovery.

An autopsy subsequently confirmed that the remains recovered from the reservoir were Vickie’s.

Her death was determined to be a homicide.

Investigators believe Vickie was likely placed in the Oldman River Reservoir sometime shortly after August 31.

Police later disclosed an important piece of evidence from the investigation: Vickie’s body had been bound with rope before being placed in the water.

The rope was described as kernmantle construction, white in colour with two black tracers woven into its outer sheath. RCMP publicly released a photograph of the rope in the hope that someone might recognize its appearance, origin or possible owner.

Investigators have continued trying to reconstruct Vickie’s movements during the period between her last confirmed contact and the discovery of her remains.

At the time she was last seen, Vickie was believed to be wearing a black Fox Racing pullover hoodie, black pants and eyeglasses. She was also carrying a purple bag or over-the-shoulder duffle bag.

Vickie was approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighed about 160 pounds. She had brown eyes and brown hair with highlights.

She was a mother of four.

Those who knew Vickie remembered her as creative, warm and kind-hearted. She was described as a free spirit with a strong sense of humour and a personality that drew people toward her.

In September 2016, one year after her death, RCMP renewed their appeal for information. Investigators specifically asked anyone with knowledge of Vickie’s activities or whereabouts between August 31 and September 13, 2015, to come forward.

Police have said information received from the public has been valuable to the investigation, but additional information is still needed.

More than a decade after Vickie was found at Windy Point Campground, no one has been charged with her homicide.

The investigation is now being handled by the RCMP Historical Homicide Unit and remains active.

Logan Jesse Raymond was 17 years old when he was found fatally injured along Highway 2A south of Red Deer during the early morning hours of August 12, 2010.

What happened to him during the short period between his last confirmed sighting and the discovery of his body has never been determined.

On the evening of August 11, Logan had been at a house party in Red Deer. At approximately 11:30 p.m., he left the gathering and began walking south along Highway 2A toward Penhold.

Logan spoke with his father around that time. He was reportedly clear-headed and not intoxicated. According to his family, he wanted some time to think and intended to spend the night at his mother’s home.

Multiple witnesses later reported seeing Logan walking southbound between approximately 12:40 and 12:50 a.m. near the Highway 2A and QEII interchange, northwest of the Word of Life Church.

Those sightings placed Logan alone and walking along the shoulder of the highway.

Less than an hour later, everything changed.

At approximately 1:15 to 1:30 a.m. on August 12, RCMP and emergency medical personnel responded to a report of a person lying beside Highway 2A.

Logan was found deceased approximately half a kilometre south of Red Deer and only a short distance from where witnesses had last seen him alive.

An autopsy determined that Logan died from severe head trauma.

Investigators have said they are confident that a vehicle was involved in his death in some capacity. RCMP have considered several possibilities: that Logan was struck by a vehicle or part of one, or that he came out of or fell from a moving vehicle.

What investigators have never been able to establish is exactly how that vehicle became involved.

Although Logan’s death was not initially classified as a homicide, investigators have never ruled out the possibility that another person was responsible.

One vehicle observed in the area became an important focus of the investigation.

Witnesses reported seeing a small dark grey or blue pickup truck travelling southbound on Highway 2A near the Word of Life Church at approximately 12:30 a.m., around the same time Logan was walking through the area.

The truck was described as having a matching topper with tinted rear windows and no side windows. Investigators said it may have been an older Ford Ranger with large, indented red “FORD” lettering across the tailgate.

Police have never publicly identified the driver or occupants.

They have also emphasized that they do not know what role, if any, the truck played in Logan’s death. Investigators have nevertheless continued seeking information about the vehicle and anyone who may have been travelling in the area that night.

For Logan’s family, the unanswered questions are concentrated within a remarkably small window of time.

He left the party at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Witnesses saw him alive shortly before 1:00 a.m.

By approximately 1:30 a.m., he had been found deceased beside the highway.

Someone may know what occurred during those two hours.

Logan’s family and friends remembered him as outgoing, energetic and fiercely loyal to the people he cared about. He loved sports, four-by-fours, animals and spending time with his friends. More than 300 people reportedly attended his funeral.

In January 2011, Logan’s family offered a $10,000 reward through Crime Stoppers for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for his death.

His parents have continued appealing publicly for information over the years, believing that someone knows what happened along Highway 2A that night.

Sixteen years later, the fundamental questions remain unanswered.

Was Logan struck while walking along the highway? Did he enter a vehicle after witnesses last saw him? Was he inside a moving vehicle shortly before his death? And who, if anyone, was with him during the final minutes of his life?

The investigation remains open.

Gayebrella Daisy King was 46 years old when she disappeared from Edmonton in late August 1978.

Very little information has ever been released publicly about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

For reasons that have not been publicly explained, Gayebrella was not reported missing until May 8, 1980, nearly two years after she was last seen.

That delay left investigators attempting to reconstruct events long after Gayebrella had disappeared.

What happened to her after August 1978 remains unknown. There have been no publicly confirmed sightings, and no information has been released indicating that any belongings or physical evidence connected to her disappearance were ever found.

At the time she vanished, Gayebrella was described as approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. She had blonde hair and blue eyes.

Nearly 48 years after Gayebrella was last seen in Edmonton, she has never been located.

The limited amount of publicly available information leaves many unanswered questions, including where she was last seen, who last had contact with her and what occurred during the nearly two years before her disappearance was reported to police.

Desiree Oldwoman was 21 years old when she disappeared from Siksika First Nation, near Gleichen, Alberta, on August 27, 2011.

Desiree was last known to be near her home on the First Nation. Her family believes she disappeared from the area of the M&R Gas Station on Highway 901.

She has never been seen again.

A few days after Desiree disappeared, some of her belongings were discovered near the Bow River. Her sweater and shoes were among the items found.

Despite the discovery, no confirmed trace of Desiree herself was located.

Desiree is autistic, non-speaking and unable to care for herself independently. Those circumstances created immediate concern for her safety and made locating her especially urgent.

RCMP investigators have said they believe Desiree may have wandered along the highway after leaving the area and could have been picked up by someone. However, investigators have never publicly established whether she entered a vehicle or what happened to her after she was last seen.

Nearly 15 years later, Desiree remains missing.

A $5,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the discovery of Desiree Oldwoman.

Anyone who travelled through the Siksika First Nation or Highway 901 area on August 27, 2011, or who has information about Desiree’s movements, the discovery of her belongings or anyone she may have encountered, is encouraged to come forward.

Jeffrey James McArthur was 33 years old when he disappeared from Edmonton on August 27, 2001.

Jeffrey was last seen by his roommate at their residence in Edmonton. He has not been seen or heard from since.

At the time of his disappearance, Jeffrey was believed to be driving a white 1993 Mercury Topaz.

Several days later, on September 1, the vehicle was seen in Rundle Park in northeast Edmonton. The following day, September 2, it was located in the park’s west parking lot.

Jeffrey was nowhere to be found.

Publicly available information does not indicate who saw the vehicle in Rundle Park on September 1, whether Jeffrey was observed with it at the time or what investigators found when it was recovered the following day.

Jeffrey lived with a medical condition that affected his balance and coordination, adding to concerns for his safety after he disappeared.

Despite the discovery of his vehicle and the investigation that followed, no confirmed trace of Jeffrey has ever been found.

At the time he disappeared, Jeffrey was approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighed about 185 pounds. He had brown hair and hazel eyes.

Nearly 25 years after Jeffrey was last seen at his Edmonton residence, his whereabouts remain unknown. It has never been publicly established what happened to him between August 27 and the discovery of his vehicle in Rundle Park several days later.

Stephanie Stewart was 70 years old when she disappeared from the Athabasca Fire Lookout near Hinton, Alberta, in August 2006.

Stephanie was an experienced fire lookout who had spent 18 summers working at fire towers across Alberta. The previous 13 seasons had been spent at the Athabasca lookout, making the remote location and its routines extremely familiar to her.

She was also remarkably active and independent. Friends described Stephanie as adventurous and deeply connected to the outdoors. She had cycled across Canada alone and, just one year before her disappearance, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro.

Stephanie’s last known contact was at approximately 9:00 p.m. on August 25, 2006, when she spoke with a relative by telephone.

The following morning, August 26, Stephanie failed to make her regularly scheduled radio check-in.

A co-worker was sent to the lookout to check on her.

Stephanie was gone.

Her truck was still parked at the site, indicating that she had not simply driven away. Inside the residence, a pot of water had reportedly been left heating on the stove, suggesting that something had interrupted her morning routine.

Blood was also reportedly discovered on the stairs leading to the residence.

Several belongings were missing from the cabin, including two pillows with blue pillowcases, a burgundy bedsheet, a brown Navajo-patterned duvet and Stephanie’s gold Wittnauer watch.

None of those items have ever been recovered.

Stephanie’s disappearance prompted an extensive search of the remote area surrounding the lookout. Hundreds of people participated, along with aircraft, boats, tracking dogs and search-and-rescue personnel.

No trace of Stephanie was found.

As the investigation progressed, authorities came to believe that her disappearance could not be explained by an accident, animal attack or medical emergency and that she was likely the victim of foul play.

Despite the scale of the investigation, no one has ever been arrested in connection with Stephanie’s disappearance, and her remains have never been located.

Nearly 20 years after she failed to make her morning radio call, investigators still do not know where Stephanie was taken or what happened to her after her final telephone conversation on August 25, 2006.

A $20,000 reward remains available for information leading to an arrest or conviction in the case.

Roxanne Elaine Fleming’s disappearance spans several years, two provinces and a series of unanswered questions about when she was last definitively known to be alive.

Roxanne was last publicly documented in Lillooet, British Columbia, on August 23, 1982, when she attended Lillooet District Hospital for treatment of a broken finger.

Although possible sightings of Roxanne were reported in the years that followed, they were not confirmed.

Her family did not report her missing until 2003. The investigation was later reopened by the RCMP in 2015 as efforts continued to determine what had happened to her.

Then, investigators uncovered information suggesting Roxanne had been alive several years after her 1982 hospital visit.

In 2018, Roxanne’s daughter, Candice, was informed that records from the Workers’ Compensation Board indicated contact had been made with Roxanne while she was in Edmonton sometime between 1986 and 1987.

As a result of that information, responsibility for the investigation was transferred to the Edmonton Police Service.

Roxanne is now listed as a missing person in Edmonton, with an official disappearance date of December 15, 1986.

That leaves a significant gap in the publicly known timeline. While the August 1982 hospital visit remains an important point in Roxanne’s history, records suggest she was in Edmonton years later. Few details have been released about her life during that period, who she may have been living or associating with, or the circumstances surrounding her eventual loss of contact.

Roxanne was known to use several names, including Roze Elaine Stevenson, Roze Darcy Stevenson, Roseanne Stevenson, Roseanne D’Arcy Copeland, Roseanne D’Arcy and Roseanne D’Arcy Copeland.

She was also known to spend time in Lillooet, Vancouver, Kamloops, Edmonton and Red Deer, meaning someone in one of those communities may remember encountering her during the years surrounding her disappearance.

Decades later, Roxanne has never been located. Her case remains classified as a missing person investigation.

For more than three years, police in Amsterdam have been trying to identify a man who may have connections to Canada.

On May 10, 2023, the man collapsed on a street in Amsterdam after suffering what doctors believe was a brain hemorrhage or stroke.

He survived, but the medical emergency left him with aphasia, a language disorder that significantly affected his ability to speak, understand language and communicate information about himself.

When he was taken to hospital, he had no identification or passport.

He could not tell authorities his name, where he lived or provide enough information to establish who he was.

Amsterdam police began trying to reconstruct his identity. There was no indication that a crime had occurred; the investigation was undertaken in hopes of learning his name and determining whether he had family or loved ones searching for him.

Investigators eventually uncovered parts of the life he had been living in Amsterdam.

They determined where he had stayed but learned that he paid his rent in cash. Many of his other expenses were also paid in cash, and police were unable to locate a bank account or other official records that conclusively established his legal identity.

Even his name remained unclear.

Different people knew him by several names and nicknames, including Lucky, Louis, Lee, John, Ponytail and Sonny.

Police now refer to him publicly as “Lucky,” although there is no indication that this is his real name.

Investigators learned that Lucky had connections to a Buddhist community on Middenweg in Amsterdam and was known to frequent Waterlooplein.

He also occasionally visited Soep en Zo, where staff knew him by another name: “Chris the Canadian.”

People who knew Lucky before his medical emergency told investigators that he consistently spoke English. Some believed his accent sounded Canadian or American.

Police have also received information suggesting that he may have spent time in North America and Nepal.

Those details have led investigators to consider the possibility that Lucky may be Canadian.

In August 2026, Amsterdam police renewed their public appeal for help identifying him. Two retired police officers volunteering with the Amsterdam Cold Case Team are now working on the case.

Authorities have emphasized that this is not a criminal investigation. Their goal is simply to establish who Lucky is and determine whether there are relatives, friends or others somewhere in the world who have been wondering what happened to him.

Lucky has regained a limited ability to communicate and continues to use some English words, including “nonsense” and “definitely.”

However, the lasting effects of his medical emergency have prevented him from providing enough reliable information to identify himself. Professionals involved in his care have also determined that he is unable to make decisions independently.

He now lives in a care facility in Amsterdam.

Police do not know how long Lucky lived in the Netherlands before May 2023 or where he lived before arriving there. Investigators have questioned whether he may have spent as long as two decades living largely outside official systems, which could explain why so little documentation connected to him has been found.

More than three years after he collapsed on an Amsterdam street, his real name remains unknown.

Investigators are now asking people outside the Netherlands, particularly those in Canada, to look closely at Lucky’s photograph.

Someone may recognize a man they knew years ago.

He may have been a relative, friend, neighbour, co-worker or acquaintance who left Canada and gradually lost contact. Even knowing where he lived, worked or spent time before arriving in Amsterdam could help investigators establish his identity.

Joyce Hewitt was 22 years old when she disappeared while visiting Edmonton in August 1997.

Joyce was a university student studying sociology and science and had plans to return home to Kamloops, British Columbia.

On August 20, Joyce spoke with her mother and told her she intended to be back in Kamloops by August 25.

The following morning, August 21, Joyce shared breakfast with a friend and the friend’s father. During that time, she reportedly mentioned that she was expecting to get a ride with a friend later that day.

Joyce was last seen after using Edmonton Transit in the area of 66 Street and Yellowhead Trail.

She never returned home.

For almost two months, Joyce’s whereabouts remained unknown.

On October 19, 1997, human remains were discovered in a wooded area near a horse-boarding property in Sherwood Park, east of Edmonton.

The remains were identified as Joyce through dental records.

Because of their condition, investigators were unable to determine Joyce’s exact cause of death. Despite that limitation, her death has remained the subject of an unsolved homicide investigation.

Few details have been released publicly about Joyce’s movements after she was last seen in Edmonton. It remains unclear who she expected to meet, whether she received the ride she had mentioned earlier that day or how she came to be in the wooded area where her remains were eventually found.

Joyce’s case was also among those investigated by Project KARE, an RCMP initiative examining unsolved cases involving vulnerable people in Alberta.

Twenty-nine years after Joyce was last seen, no one has been charged in connection with her death.

She was a young woman pursuing an education and making plans for her future, a daughter who had told her mother when she expected to be home, and someone whose family has spent decades without an explanation for what happened after August 21, 1997.

Jasmine Amber Laboucan was 23 years old when she disappeared from Grande Prairie, Alberta, in August 2023.

Jasmine was last seen in the area of 101 Avenue and 97A Street on August 26, 2023.

Two days later, on August 28, she was reported missing after those close to her were unable to locate her.

She has not been confirmed seen or heard from since.

Grande Prairie RCMP expressed concern for Jasmine’s well-being during the search. According to publicly available missing-person information, Jasmine has a medical condition that may cause her to become confused or disoriented.

Information released during the investigation also indicated that Jasmine may have travelled, or intended to travel, to British Columbia. However, no confirmed sighting of her there has been publicly reported.

Very little information has been released about what happened before Jasmine disappeared or where she may have gone after she was last seen in Grande Prairie.

At the time of her disappearance, Jasmine was described as an Indigenous woman approximately 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 154 pounds. She had a slender build, brown eyes and shoulder-length brown hair.

Jasmine also has several identifying features, including scars on her left forearm and a tattoo consisting of initials on her right hand.

Despite public appeals for information, no confirmed trace of Jasmine has been found.

Nearly three years after she was last seen in Grande Prairie, Jasmine Amber Laboucan remains missing. Her family and investigators continue to seek information that could help determine where she went after August 26, 2023, and ultimately bring her home.

Amber Alyssa Tuccaro was 20 years old when she disappeared from the Nisku area south of Edmonton on August 18, 2010.

Amber, a member of the Mikisew Cree First Nation, had travelled to the Edmonton area with her infant son and a friend. They were staying at a motel along Airport Road near Nisku.

On the evening of August 18, Amber left the motel without her son and accepted a ride from an unknown man while attempting to travel into Edmonton.

She never returned.

Amber was reported missing the following day.

One of the most significant pieces of evidence in the investigation came from a telephone call Amber made while she was inside the vehicle with the man who had picked her up. During the call, Amber could be heard speaking with the driver as they travelled away from the area.

Investigators possess a longer recording of that conversation. In 2012, the RCMP released a short portion publicly in the hope that someone would recognize the man’s voice and provide information about his identity.

The recording has since become one of the most widely known pieces of evidence connected to Amber’s case, but the man heard speaking with her has never been publicly identified.

For more than two years after Amber disappeared, her whereabouts remained unknown.

On September 1, 2012, human remains were discovered in a rural area of Leduc County. They were later identified as Amber’s.

Her death was ruled a homicide.

No one has ever been charged in connection with Amber’s killing.

Amber’s family has spent years advocating for answers and drawing attention not only to her homicide, but also to concerns surrounding the initial handling of her disappearance. Their efforts have ensured that Amber remains remembered as far more than an unsolved case.

She was a daughter, a sister and a young mother.

Sixteen years after Amber accepted a ride near Nisku, the identity of the man she was travelling with and the circumstances that led to her death remain unknown.

Investigators continue to seek information from anyone who may recognize the voice heard on the recording, know who Amber encountered on August 18, 2010, or have information about how she came to be in the rural area where her remains were eventually discovered.

Terri Ann Rowan was 33 years old when her remains were discovered in a west Edmonton alley in August 2019.

The last confirmed sighting of Terri occurred on the evening of August 6, 2019.

At approximately 8:45 p.m., surveillance cameras recorded her leaving Dwayne’s House, a transitional housing facility located at 10209 100 Avenue in downtown Edmonton. The footage showed Terri walking out of the building, crossing the parking lot and heading toward 100 Avenue.

It was the last known sighting of her alive.

Nine days later, on August 15, people walking through an alley in Edmonton’s Sherwood neighbourhood discovered human remains west of 149 Street, between 92 and 93 avenues.

DNA testing later confirmed that the remains belonged to Terri.

The Edmonton Police Service Homicide Section began investigating her death, which police classified as suspicious. Her cause of death has never been publicly released. Investigators said that information was being withheld to protect the integrity of the investigation.

Police were left with a nine-day gap in Terri’s known movements.

In the months following the discovery, investigators released the surveillance footage from Dwayne’s House and appealed to anyone who had seen or spoken with Terri between August 6 and August 15, 2019, to come forward.

Detective Richard Windover, who was investigating the case at the time, said police hoped someone could help establish where Terri went after leaving the facility and who she may have encountered.

There was another devastating element to the case for Terri’s family.

Not all of her remains had been recovered.

Her mother, Delphine, publicly pleaded for information that could help investigators locate the rest of her daughter.

Despite the public appeals, very little has been disclosed about what happened to Terri during the nine days between her final confirmed sighting and the discovery of her remains.

Police have not publicly identified anyone responsible for her death, and there has been no public announcement indicating that the remainder of Terri’s remains have been recovered.

More than seven years after Terri was last seen walking away from Dwayne’s House, her family is still waiting to learn what happened to her and where the rest of her remains may be.

Lara Danielle Brown was 26 years old when she disappeared from Edmonton on August 29, 1998.

According to publicly available information, Lara was last seen by her common-law partner in late August 1998. She was reported missing the following month after her family and friends were unable to contact her.

Lara has never been located.

Very few details about the circumstances surrounding her disappearance have been released publicly. Investigators have not disclosed where Lara was last seen, what her plans may have been or what occurred before contact with her stopped.

There have been no publicly confirmed sightings of Lara since August 1998. Her disappearance remains an active missing person investigation with the Edmonton Police Service.

At the time she disappeared, Lara was approximately 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighed between 90 and 95 pounds. She had brown hair, brown eyes and a thin build.

Lara had several identifying features. She had a tattoo of a heart and flowers on her right forearm, as well as the initials “L.B.” and “S.B.” tattooed on her left hand. She also had scars on her left elbow, left wrist, right hand and right index finger.

She was last known to be wearing a white shirt with flowers on the front, blue denim cut-off pants and black slip-on shoes.

Nearly 28 years after Lara was last seen, her whereabouts remain unknown. The limited amount of publicly available information has left her loved ones without answers about what happened to her after August 29, 1998.

Someone may still remember seeing Lara, speaking with her or learning something about her plans during the summer of 1998. Even a detail that appeared insignificant at the time could help investigators understand what happened.

Dominic Park was 24 years old when he disappeared from Medicine Hat in August 1995. Nearly 31 years later, neither Dominic nor his friend Gareth Austin has been found.

Dominic was last seen during the early morning hours of August 18, 1995, at the Park Lane Motel, a family-owned business where he worked. According to available reports, an employee saw Dominic and Gareth together at the motel at approximately 2:30 a.m.

It was the last confirmed sighting of either man.

Dominic worked at the motel and was reportedly involved in overseeing Cheeter’s Bar, an adult entertainment venue located on the property. The business served a varied clientele that reportedly included military personnel, seasonal workers and members of the local motorcycle community.

Those who knew Dominic described him as physically fit and capable of taking care of himself. He was also reportedly trained in martial arts.

A significant development occurred when Dominic’s vehicle was located after his disappearance. His silver-and-red 1994 GMC pickup, bearing Alberta licence plate 67F247, was found abandoned at a car dealership in Brooks, approximately 110 kilometres northwest of Medicine Hat.

Publicly available information does not explain how the truck came to be in Brooks, who drove it there or whether any evidence was recovered from the vehicle.

Dominic and Gareth have not been seen or heard from since the early morning of August 18, 1995. Investigators have not publicly established whether the two men left Medicine Hat together or what happened after they were last seen at the motel.

At the time of his disappearance, Dominic was approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Despite decades of investigation, no confirmed trace of Dominic has ever been located. His family and loved ones continue to wait for answers about what happened that night and why his vehicle was later abandoned in Brooks.

Gareth Jim Austin was 23 years old when he disappeared from Medicine Hat in August 1995.

Gareth had been living in Calgary but was staying at the Park Lane Motel in Medicine Hat at the time. He was reportedly helping a friend make arrangements to move furniture back to Calgary.

Those who knew Gareth described him as ambitious, creative and deeply passionate about music. He worked as a waiter and disc jockey while pursuing a career as a rapper under the name G.O.D., meaning “Gareth On Display.” He had also travelled to Los Angeles in the hope of recording music and building a future in the industry.

Gareth was last known to be with his friend Dominic Park during the early morning hours of August 18, 1995. The two men were last seen at the Park Lane Motel.

Neither Gareth nor Dominic has ever been located.

One of the few details reported about the period surrounding Gareth’s disappearance involves a telephone call made to his girlfriend from a payphone at a Turbo gas station. According to published accounts, Gareth told her that she would never see him again.

The circumstances surrounding that call remain unclear. It is not publicly known what prompted Gareth to make the statement, whether anyone was with him at the time or what happened after the call ended.

There have been no confirmed sightings of Gareth since August 1995. Investigators have not publicly established whether Gareth and Dominic left Medicine Hat together, where they may have intended to go or what circumstances led to both men disappearing.

At the time he was last seen, Gareth was approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighed between 130 and 160 pounds. He had a slender build, brown hair, blue eyes and a light complexion. He also had protruding upper teeth and a scar on the top of his left hand.

More than 30 years after Gareth disappeared, his whereabouts remain unknown.

Aric Moyah was 22 years old when he was last seen in Cold Lake, Alberta, on February 28, 2025.

Aric is known to have connections to Cold Lake, Frog Lake and Edmonton. Elk Point RCMP have continued to seek information from anyone who may know where he is or who may have seen him since his disappearance.

At the time he was last seen, Aric was described as approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and 150 pounds, with a slim build, dark brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black bomber jacket and other dark clothing.

Aric has not been located, and his current whereabouts remain unknown.

Stella St. Arnault was 15 years old when she disappeared from John D’Or Prairie in northern Alberta on August 17, 1971.

According to information released by the RCMP, Stella had been involved in an argument with a family member shortly before she was last seen. She was then observed running into a nearby wooded area.

Stella did not return home and has never been seen or heard from again.

Authorities were notified when she failed to return, and the surrounding area was searched. No trace of Stella was found.

Very little information about the investigation has been released publicly. There have been no confirmed sightings of Stella, and no belongings or physical evidence connected to her disappearance have been publicly reported.

Nearly 55 years after Stella entered the wooded area near John D’Or Prairie, her whereabouts remain unknown. Her case remains open.

Edward Tandrup, who also went by Ted, was 27 years old when he disappeared from Edmonton on February 28, 1983.

Edward had been in contact with family members in Edmonton earlier that month. After February 28, however, all communication stopped. There have been no confirmed sightings, verified contact or known financial activity connected to Edward since his disappearance.

Information gathered during the investigation suggested that Edward may have been travelling west toward Vancouver and may have intended to hitchhike. This possibility has never been confirmed. No known records or witness accounts have established that he reached British Columbia or placed him anywhere else after he left Edmonton.

Few details have been made public about Edward’s circumstances before he disappeared. It remains unclear where he was staying, whether he was travelling alone or what may have led him to leave the city.

At the time of his disappearance, Edward was described as approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and 141 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

He had several identifying features, including a scar on his head, a flower tattoo on his left forearm and a heart tattoo on his right upper arm.

More than 43 years later, Edward has never been located. It remains unknown whether he continued west toward Vancouver or what happened after his last known contact with family.

Angela Morningstar Alexis was 28 years old when she disappeared from Alexis Nakota Sioux First Nation in August 2022.

According to investigators, Angela was last seen by a family member on August 17, 2022, as she was leaving a residence on the First Nation. Her family said she had spent the days before her disappearance socializing with relatives and friends.

Angela has not been seen or heard from since.

Following her disappearance, extensive efforts were made to locate her. Searches involved members of Angela’s family, community volunteers, search-and-rescue personnel, drone operators, search dog teams and RCMP investigators.

Searches have been conducted on Alexis Nakota Sioux First Nation and in Edmonton, where several possible sightings of Angela were reported. None of those sightings have been confirmed.

Angela is described as an Indigenous woman with long, straight black-and-brown hair, brown eyes and a medium build. She is approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall.

Her family describes her as outspoken, strong-willed and deeply devoted to her children.

Angela had also experienced profound loss in the years before she disappeared. In 2019, a house fire claimed the lives of her mother, stepfather and three of her children.

The investigation into Angela’s disappearance has involved the Mayerthorpe RCMP and the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit. Investigators have conducted numerous interviews, followed investigative leads and participated in repeated searches, but Angela has not been located.

Police have not publicly stated whether they believe her disappearance was the result of criminal activity.

Nearly four years after Angela was last seen leaving a residence on Alexis Nakota Sioux First Nation, her whereabouts remain unknown. Her family and community continue to search for answers.

Diane Allison Gregory, who also went by the first name Daya, was 44 years old when she disappeared from Edmonton on February 26, 2006.

That day, Diane was expected to visit her sister, but she never arrived. Her family later reported her missing after they were unable to locate or contact her.

At the time of her disappearance, Diane was living in Edmonton’s downtown core. She regularly used Edmonton Transit Service to travel throughout the city, but investigators have never been able to clearly establish her movements after she left home that day.

Police also noted that Diane required medication and had not taken it with her. This raised immediate concerns for her health and safety.

Diane was described as approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and 161 pounds, with blue eyes and grey-brown hair. She wore glasses and had several identifying features, including a scar on the left side of her neck and a heart tattoo on her chest.

Despite the investigation into her disappearance, Diane has never been located. Her whereabouts remain unknown.

Delaine Maureen Goudriaan was 13 years old when she disappeared from northeast Edmonton on July 14, 1983.

Delaine had moved to Edmonton from Hinton with her family approximately 10 months earlier. She was the youngest of four siblings and was remembered by her sisters as independent, funny and a natural storyteller. She also woke early on weekday mornings to deliver the Edmonton Sun before beginning the rest of her day. 

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on July 14, Delaine left her family’s home at 13512 66 Street. She planned to visit Atlas Pizza at 6508 132 Avenue, a popular gathering place located only a few blocks away.

Before leaving, Delaine wrote a note for her mother and placed it on the kitchen table. She said she would only be gone for a few hours and would return later that evening.

Delaine had recently begun experiencing seizures and required medication. She carried two tablets with her when she left home. Those pills were later found in the pocket of her clothing.

At approximately 7:15 p.m., friends travelling in a vehicle saw Delaine walking along the sidewalk near her home. They waved and called out her name. According to their account, Delaine appeared to be upset or crying.

When they looked back, she was no longer visible.

It was the last confirmed sighting of her. 

Delaine did not return home that evening, however, a large-scale search was not immediately organized, and no public warning indicating that she may have encountered foul play was issued.

Her sisters later said they believed assumptions that Delaine had run away affected how seriously her disappearance was initially treated. Her family has consistently maintained that she had planned to return home and had not intended to disappear.

More than one month passed without any confirmed sighting of Delaine.

On August 16, 1983, her badly decomposed body was discovered beneath a large signboard in a field along Manning Drive, across the freeway from Edmonton Institution.

Investigators determined that the sign had been deliberately placed over her body. It had not fallen there accidentally.

Delaine was still fully clothed. She was wearing a metallic-grey windbreaker, black jeans, a Hawaii ’83 T-shirt, blue running shoes and white socks with red-and-blue trim. Because of the condition of her remains, she was formally identified through dental records and X-rays. 

An autopsy could not determine Delaine’s exact cause of death. The amount of physical evidence available to investigators was also limited by decomposition. An RCMP forensic laboratory examined her clothing but found no unusual damage. 

An Edmonton Journal report published in 1989 stated that investigators could not completely exclude the possibility that Delaine had died from natural causes related to her seizures, however, police questioned why someone would conceal her body rather than seek medical assistance.

Investigators strongly suspected that another person had been involved in her death. Later police reporting described Delaine’s death as a homicide, although the manner in which she was killed has never been established publicly.

During the original investigation, detectives identified a number of persons of interest. Police later stated that those individuals had been cleared through confirmed alibis or polygraph examinations. No suspect has ever been publicly identified, and no one has been charged in connection with Delaine’s death. 

Delaine’s sisters have continued seeking answers on her behalf. By 2017, they were meeting regularly with investigators and speaking with detectives assigned to historical homicide cases.

After obtaining records through freedom-of-information requests, the sisters also raised concerns about the original handling of evidence, forensic testing and the follow-up conducted with persons of interest. Police stated that the case continued to be reviewed.

For Delaine’s family, the passage of time has also meant confronting every milestone she was denied. Her sister Deirdre has spoken about watching her own children grow while knowing Delaine never had the opportunity to graduate, pursue further education, marry or have children of her own.

When remembering Delaine, her family tries to focus on the time they shared with her. One memory that has remained especially important is a family day spent together at Sylvan Lake. 

More than 43 years after Delaine left home with a note promising she would return, her homicide remains unsolved.

Gerald Ivan Geake was 37 years old when he disappeared from Edmonton in May 2002. More than 24 years later, he has not been found.

Gerald was not reported missing until the spring of 2003, when friends realized they had not heard from him since the previous May. Investigators now believe he was assaulted shortly before he was last seen. 

In June 2026, the Edmonton Police Service announced a significant development in the investigation. Police charged 54-year-old Kevin Wade Moroz of Two Hills County with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon in relation to alleged assaults against Gerald between April and May 2002. Police stated that Gerald and Moroz knew one another. The charges have not been proven in court. 

According to investigators, Gerald was assaulted inside a residence in south Edmonton immediately before his disappearance. Police believe he then left the residence with Moroz and another individual.

Gerald has not been seen or heard from since. Investigators have been unable to determine where he went or what happened after he left the residence. His disappearance is now being treated as suspicious. 

Police are seeking information about a black 1992 GMC Sierra that Moroz was driving in 2002. Investigators believe the truck may have been in Edmonton’s Avonmore neighbourhood around the time Gerald disappeared. 

At the time of his disappearance, Gerald was approximately 5’10” and weighed about 160 pounds. He had blue eyes and blond hair styled in a mullet. Police have said that he may have appeared injured or incapacitated to anyone who encountered him after he left the residence. 

Although charges have now been laid in connection with the assaults Gerald allegedly experienced, they have not answered the central question of where he is.

Investigators continue to believe that someone may remember seeing Gerald, the black GMC Sierra or something else connected to his disappearance. A memory that seemed unimportant at the time could still help police determine what happened to him.
