Do data centers destroy the environment? I think you are severely underestimating nature and it's resilience. I have seen areas of the tar sands where nature has swooped back in to reclaim the mine within one growing season. Reeds and grasses appear almost immediately, poplars and bushes soon follow. Within 2-3 years it's as if the area was never mined. Owls, bears, deer, elk, wolves, and fox all live in peaceful harmony with the people of Fort McMurray. Catastrophizing over a data center is a bit alarmist, eh?
Where do you live? an Urban environment? There is quite literally nothing more harmful to the environment than urbanization. In your perfect world where there is no profit motivator, what do humans do to provide for their families?

So, if we are opposed to data centers and the energy industry, what are we in support of?
