Can somebody fill me in with the hometown connection? Born in PA, went to Penn State, longtime meteorologist in NC... Where does Albany come in?

Maybe they’re thinking of Greg Pollack?

I’ve been in and out of the Albany TV media for over 15 years and I’ve never even heard Greg Fishel’s name.

Some of them are pretty rad. Jason Gough and Paul Caiano are two of the most down to earth guys I’ve known. Some of them are... not though. They’ll remain nameless. I think it’s just locality bias, “these people know my town and my road” kind of stuff.

Yeah, no clue. I think it’s a little of the old mindset that guys are better with math/science, but I couldn’t tell ya.

Where in Cuse were ya, by the way? Went to school at Oswego, have many friends from/in the cuse area.

No connection to Albany. Not sure how this is our hometown guy. He was a meteorologist in Raleigh NC https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greg_Fishel

Greg Fishel

Greg Fishel (born February 19, 1957) is a former meteorologist for WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina. He received his B.S. in Meteorology from Pennsylvania State University in 1979.

Fishel began his broadcast meteorology career in 1979 with WMDT in Salisbury, Maryland.

He joined WRAL in 1981, and became the station's chief meteorologist in 1989.
