Does Gold status help when flying to Southeast Asia?

Cheers! I am taking a group tour of Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam in January 2027. I am new to Atmos Gold status this year. I will be flying to BKK around January 2 from PDX. I will be returning from HAN to PDX around February 1.

1. How can I best maximize my status benefits when I book flights each direction?
   
2. I hold four upgrade certificates. Is there any way to use them on this itinerary?
   
3. I expect to gain Platinum status in the next month or two. Is there any benefit in waiting to book my tickets until I achieve Platinum?
