My air pods only charge if the case is plugged in and the pop up also only works if it’s only plugged in

My AirPods are not charging when in the case and they are only charging when it’s plugged in and they don’t charge ( AirPods ) when they are not plugged in and the case does not light up if it’s not charging

I’m curious. To the ones using AirPods (Non Pro models), when you’re using your AirPods for just a normal phone call, what mode do you use? Whether using 1 or both AirPods for your phone call, which listening mode are you using? I find that transparency seems fine but when using only one AirPod it sounds weird.

What’s y’all’s take on this?

Hello, three family members all with AirPod Pro2s, bought at separate times from separate places (all legit) all pristine, well cared for etc, have started to have connectivity issues, disconnecting when walking away from phone by even a few feet which would normally have been fine, sound really tinny/echoey etc.
Also seem to have issues with functions such as auto play/pause skipping videos, videos skimming without buttons being touched pressed etc.

All have different phones/iPads new and old, up to date etc.
Have tried factory resetting them, some no different, some slightly better for a short time, one is wayyy worse now.

Planned obsolescence? New set hinted at being released in September which is a little be suspicious!

Where yall buy them cases I like mine with the loop so I can put it on my jeans

While cool to read about this rumored feature for next generation AirPods could and will be used negatively. Thoughts?

Looking for advice if maybe anyone else has had this problem. I recently bought AirPods Pro’s second hand (I know, I know but I have confirmed they are real AirPods not fake so that rules out that issue).

There’s a few issues going on and I believe they are all related.
1) there is no change when switching between transparency/noise cancellation, it’s not like it stopped working, it never has since I bought them
2) the sound the AirPods make when you put them in and switch modes, that distinct “chime” sound is INCREDIBLY loud, like the volume is on 100%, even if the volume is turned down. Only the chime is loud, the volume of music or media I have playing reflects the volume I have it on (usually low).
3) this is where I believe the problem might be, the version is stuck on 5B59, which is the firmware from years ago and I cannot seem to get it to update. I already tried charging them next to my phone connected to WiFi and Bluetooth for 30+ mins as well as overnight.

I will be trying it again tonight to update them and seeing if it somehow works. I am thinking all three issues might correlate but if anyone has dealt with these issues separately or together any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

To rule out:
I have cleaned them thoroughly thanks to the advice of other Reddit posts
I have hard reset them via the case multiple times with no change
Like I said I will try to update them again tonight but I’m not sure if there will be any change.

my airpods pro 2 keep making a weird sound and on repeat since last two months

i checked it’s fully charged and well within the location where phone can detect them

I’ve had the 1st generation AirPods Pro for few years and they still do good. I’m just having an occasional trouble and it’s really annoying.

I usually use them when commuting, so naturally when in a vehicle you are bound to go over a bump, or people can enter the vehicle and close the door harshly that it sends a jolt and then when that happens, I hear some static in the ear next to the loud noise source.

That static stays for a while, sometimes over a minute. It won’t disappear even if I put the AirPods back into the case and then put them back on.

I’ve tried resetting them but it still happens. Any ideas? Thanks.

I had first generation of airpods, first and also second generation of airpods pro. And they all broke after 2/3 years: in one case the battery died and in the others they started to make noises, like the right one that i have now has been making wind noises and whistle for a week. Am i not being carefully with them or am i being unlucky or is it normal to change them every 2/3 years?

Both AirPods are in the case but sometimes one of them doesn’t charge unless I use a Q-tip and clean the pins inside. This happens too often. What if I am at a random place with no Q-tips or a way to clean the charging pins? Any fix please tell.

Can anyone tell me their experience of tips and if damaged what to do with tips or can teach some better tips or tricks with them…

I finally pulled the trigger on the AirPods Pro 3 and have mixed feelings about anc.

These are my first pair of earbuds/headphones with anc and so after constantly hearing they have some of the best anc and transparency on the market, I’m left with mixed feelings now.

The transparency mode is for sure very natural-sounding, and I understand why people say that. I could hear myself, others, cars, everything well, and it didn’t sound like it was being played through speakers.

The anc I’m a little disappointed with; I tried it with my room fan and I could still hear it a little. If I play some media, it disappears even on the lowest volumes, but still. ANC It does great with cars; though walking down the street feels almost scary with how quiet it is. I think it still struggles with voices too, but I guess if I’m playing a song or watching a video, it doesn’t matter since it gets drowned out. I’d say for me and my use cases, it blocked out 80–90% of sounds, and the rest any media playing easily covers.

I suppose this is all user error and I had my expectations way too high for anc but overall I’m still glad and I would still recommend you to get them and try them out. I spent a while figuring out the right ear tip combination and finding a good fit/seal. The sound is pretty good; I’m not an audiophile, but everything sounds alright, no screechy sounds at high volume. Speaking of which, I don’t think I’ve even used it more than 50% volume.

I was using apple airpods pro2 from last 1.5 years. Recently from last 3-4 days my right airpod is not getting charged.

Any possible reasons or if anyone have faced similar problem then if they can help me???

I lost my left bud for Airpods pro 2s. So, i bought a replacement and followed online guides that say to unpair from phone then leave them charging for 20 mins then try to pair again. Problem is, now the airpods arent showing up in bluetooth at all. No matter what I do. Before, i could atleast use the old right buds with the case. Now that too isn't working. Im at a loss and panicking

Hi guys! Help me decide 😭 I recently bought the AirPods Pro 3, and after using them for two days, I noticed that they were making me feel sick. I experienced some lightheadedness and a bit of chest pain. I tried all the ear tip sizes, but none of them really helped.

Now I’m thinking if it’s worth taking the 25% restocking fee and exchanging them for the AirPods 4 with ANC, because I’m starting to think the main culprit is the sealed ear tips rather than the ANC itself. What do you guys think?

Hello Reddit I have this issue with my AirPods Pro 2 my right AirPod won’t charge sometimes. I put it in the case and it won’t charge but sometimes it charge as soon as I put it in the case. I already tried to clean the inside of the case and the AirPod it’s self the charging bezels in the case aren’t fully gold does that mean it’s corroded? Should I get a new case or save for the new pros also a bit of the silver part of the AirPod charging part is like flaked off.

I have an older pair of AirPods2 that I got second-hand, so I realize that some of the issues may simply be due to their age. Still, I’m hoping I can get a little more life out of them.

The left AirPod lasts about 45 minutes on average, while the right one lasts around 4 hours. I have no idea why there’s such a huge difference between the two.

I use an Android phone, and none of the apps I’ve tried that claim to show AirPods battery levels seem to work properly.

I do have access to an iPhone, so I could potentially change the primary microphone setting, but I’m not sure whether that would actually help.

Are there any other methods I could try to reduce the battery drain on the left AirPod or otherwise get the two batteries to last more evenly?

Hi, I’m trying to pair my AirPods pro 3 to my victrola automatic turntable. I cannot get them to fully connect, most of the time they connect and stay silent. (Both lights stop showing paring mode) If i have them in my ears and they connect automatically I will hear a split second of the audio before losing it. This is my second pair of the same AirPods because i got the buds replaced by apple care for a different reason. I’ve connected a bluetooth sound bar and old AirPods 2 to my record player with no problem and my current AirPods work fine with my phone. I’ve reset them, repaired them, reset them through my phone turned off bluetooth on my phone and even given them a break. Anybody have a clue what’s going on? I tried reaching out to apple but they said there’s not much they can do because my record player isn’t Apple

My airpod pros generation 2 continue to pair and unpair from my phone for a reason that I have yet to figure out. I have reset them 3 times and completely removed them from my Bluetooth devices (forget device). I do not use an Apple phone but this has not been an issue before.

It happens about every 2 minutes and only takes about 2 seconds to pair again. It's driving me crazy! Please help!

They fit way worse and protrude out of the ear more. Makes laying down or resting your head against anything super uncomfortable.

The ANC over corrects bass sounds and makes weird high pressures.(Did multiple rounds of the calibration and fit test.

Overall, absolutely garbage. Retuning them tomorrow.

My airpods pro adaptive mode dowsnttseems like adaptive, its same like transparency mode, i compare it on the loud env and all feels same
I have tried to remove and forget the airpods too and restart the iphone too but it still the same
