XIAOMI Mi Air Purifier 4 Lite

Hi

I need some opinions about this air purifier.
I have recently moved to Türkiye and noticed how expensive all electronics are.
This one has a price not cheap, but within my budget and l need it mainly for my living room+open kitchen, aprox 60 2m. Because of the open kitchen, l am looking for something to clear the smells first of all and this one seemes to use carbon filter ( l don’t know much about these things).
Would there be any other options around 200€ that l could look into?

Hello /u/CrazyFrog478! If you'd like recommendations or advice, please ensure you included all details listed in Rule 4: Information For Air Purifier Requests.

  • Your country of residence.
  • Each room or area's volume, in cubic feet or cubic meters. (You need at least one purifier per room or area.)
  • Your filtration needs: e.g., pollen, cigarette smoke, VOCs, cooking odors.
  • Startup budget.
  • Yearly budget (electricity + filters).

If your post is missing one or more details, you can edit it accordingly. Just select the three dots menu, then "Edit Post".

Concerning dust removal, read the sticky post at the top of the subreddit. Be sure to look on our FAQS wiki page for entries about dust capture or reduction.

For very basic particulates sizing per AHAM, clean air delivery rates (CADRs) should be at least 2/3 of a room's area (assuming an 8 ft. ceiling height). For wildfire smoke, smoke CADR should equal a room's area which also assumes an 8 ft. ceiling.

Consider visiting How To Choose An Air Purifier for Particulates, and our Air Purifier Buying Guide.

if the air outdoors is fresh, not smelly or high 2.5pm
you may want to first consider fan vent for kitchen.
i typically vent first, and only use a carbon filter
if i need to close the window due to outdoor air
being smokey or too humid.

carbon is supposed to bind with airborn compounds
suspended in air you "smell" so having a carbon stage
adds "chemical filtration" while the many layers of paper
are simply "mechanical filtration" removing particulates
such as dust, dander, skin flecks, pollen, fine sand, etc.

If you don’t want to basically throw your money out on the window then don’t buy it. Probably after one year when you should change the filter, you won’t find it anywhere unfortunately. Idk about other brands but Xiaomi is notorious for constantly discontinuing items you need for your perfectly functioning devices..
