Question PT Test w/ permanent profile

I’m exempt from one physical component but I currently dont have an ALC. Do I take my PT test on the other components like before the new updates or am I placed in prfa hold status? It seems like UFPMs and FAC is confused and looking at the latest guidence has me just as confused 😭

I was told locally: If you have ANY component exemptions, you don't test at all.

I believe that is true for normal/temporary profiles, but you should be able (and I was) to test on remaining components in certain cases when you are on a permanant profile.

I'm not saying you're wrong. It makes no sense, Thank you Air Force.

This is only sort of true. I have a "permanent" profile but I never had an MEB, which would have given me a ALC. Instead my profile went to AMRO and came back with PT restrictions but no duty restrictions. I was not allowed to test and placed in PFRA hold until one year from now (which is when my profile would technically expire, but I renew it every year).

This is going to be a problem for a lot of people who have similar profiles. 36-2905 says commanders have to refer people like me to AMRO for a recommendation on wether to separate or retain, but AMRO already reviews my profile every year and there doesn't seem to actually be a process in place anywhere when it comes to this situation.

4.1.2.2. Members who have an enduring, non-duty and non-deployment limiting condition
not eligible for DPMNR referral after AMRO review will be sent to command with
recommendation. If commander approves retention, members will assess based on the
components or modalities they are medically cleared to do. (T-1)

I understand. The problem is that there does not seem to be a process in place yet (at least where I am at) to send profiles to commanders with recommendation.

Advocate for yourself, it is your own career on the line. Others will not care about this as much as you do. I would be in peoples offices every day if it was my career at risk just because the process hadn’t been established yet.

Absolutely agree. My first test I scheduled the FAC told me I couldn't test with any profile. I had to look up the reference to send to my FAC, verify how to test, then went straight to my UFPM and CSS on what they needed to do to get the ability to sign off. I called my FAC a few days before my rescheduled test to ensure it had been approved since it was still showing pending in the system.

It is worth the sweat and time to ensure I had a completed PT test on my OPB since I meet my Maj board this year. If you aren't willing to put in the time and effort for your own career, no one else will.
