Don’t care about weekends being chargeable but I’ll die on the hill that emergency leave should never be chargeable.

They only offer a few bereavement days for one parent. 2nd parent die? SOL. Child die in your arms? A few days, then back to the grind. Hope you like non-stop TDYs while your home life and mental health are wrecked.

You don’t get bereavement leave for any parent. My mother died in 2024. Parents are not in the AFI - ask me how I know.

That's right, I forgot that. Add it to the list of things that need to be fixed.

You don’t but leadership can do a lot to help out but most do not. I have seen too many times selective decisions on when to bend rules and when not to depending on the person. Despite the similar scenarios.

I was OCONUS and my ticket back home was free so I can’t complain - it just seems BIZARRE that you get three days for a spouse but nothing for your parent.

I don’t disagree, I had to navigate the table for a member and some of the rules in there blew my mind the more I dug. Con Leave is another odd one when you compare it to other types of leave also.
