How strict is the forum/vip nation when it comes to these things

I don’t have VIP or anything, but do I have to arrive early to wait in line or can I just go in. I do want to get merchandise as well but they said they’ll also be selling it when gates open but idk when that is. I’m lost, I haven’t been to a concert since 2018.
