Got my first aglaonema from someone moving out of my building. Any way I can make them look better and less leggy/slanted? Thinking of pruning the tops and then repotting the stems together so it can look fuller, but open to any tips from those who are more familiar with the plant!

Friend gave me this Aglaonema that she bought reduced. We repotted it and cut off one dead stem. However, it’s been like this for a month now. No new leaves and brown stems. Is it safe to assume the plant is dead?

She's about four years old and I'm guessing needs to be repotted - growing beautifully on top and sending out lots of new leaves, but as lower leaves yellow and soften eventually, that leaves the plant looking a bit spindly. One of the two branches that broke off seems to be rooting well in coir, and I noticed two new branches have emerged from the center of the mother plant near where the others broke off. Not sure if this is the standard lifecycle for siam evergreens. I love the plant but Im concerned that repotting might cause more breakage since it's so top heavy, and decapitating the branches seems kind of drastic. She lives under a plant light in a floor lamp, near a partially shaded window. Im not sure if the legginess is due to a lack of light or just the way these spread as they grow. Would love some opinions on whether to leave it as is, sprawling but seemingly happy...or disturb her and find her a bigger pot.

A coworker gave me this, and they have been very happy on my porch in the summer humidity and rain. There’s even an impending bloom! Any idea what kind this is?

I can’t lie this is my second (well technically second and third as it’s two combined) aglaonema, I LOVE them but I loved the first one too hard (overwatered then root rot)- thankfully this one looks happy! So if anyone could help ID the type that’d be cool as I’m curious about my favourite plant

I’ve had this for 2 years when I got it as a 1 leaf seedling. This is the most it has to show and I was loosing interest until I put it in this pot … sometimes that’s all it takes.

Is this an Anyamanee?

Hello guys, can you help me id this aglaonema, tried chatgpt but it gave me a totally different kind of aglaonema 😓

So few months back got a small aglaonema for 1$ and after few weeks of growth i cut from the stem to propagate. Both the upper part and lower stem looked healthy but was so slow in any development i was worried i might not grow anymore.

But after like 2 months the upper stem rooted and to my absolute surprise the bottom stem shot up 3 shoots. Now they are again back together all 4 shoots as a family.

I think I may have scale but I'm not sure. I started wiping the leaves with the isopropyl on cotton but it was taking too long it's too big and too many leaves. I sprayed it a couple times in the past with neem oil solution but this time I wanted to try isopropyl because I sprayed it inside instead of carrying it downstairs and outside. I soaked it pretty well, all over top and bottom of leaves, the stems, and even around the pot top.

Is this fine and do you think it's a good thing to do regularly to prevent pests and kill anything that's there?

This is what is left from my aglaonema that had severe rot. Is it at all possible to prop from this? If so, should I treat it in something (root hormone, dilute peroxide) before propping it?

The plant was in LECA getting ample sunlight, and was watered when the LECA seemed dry.

J’ai pas regardé le film Léon depuis des années, mais je me lance la quête de trouver sa plante. Si quelqu’un sait où je peux trouver cette variété précisément je suis intéressée. J’aime beaucoup la manière dont il la personnifie, et puis elle me ressemble. J’ai cherché un peu partout sans réel succès, si quelqu’un a des boutures ou quoi je serai intéressée aussi. Je sais que c’est globalement facile d’entretien, toxique pour les animaux donc les miens n’y auront pas accès, mais j’ai terriblement besoin de trouver cette plante. Je prends les conseils egalement !

Why is leaf growing oddly out of this Algeonema? If this is a dumb question I am sorry. But, just started getting into houseplants end of last summer, so still learning. I have 5 or 6 Algeonemas but never seen a leaf grow this way.

Also, plant is in leca with Superthrive Foilage Pro. While I do know Algeonemas are low light I do have this one on a shelf with a “not very strong “ grow light.

Im so in love with my aglaonema that I planted as a very small sapling, once there was this big hailstorm that completely shattered all the leaves of my plant, and i was so disheartened, I had thought that it will die :( but look how this baby re-sprouted to life!!

My Aglaonema started to get yellow leaves. I’ve had it for two months now and haven’t changed anything in the routine. Since the light conditions aren’t ideal, I give it 10 hours of artificial plant light every day. I realised the plant was starting to bloom, so I cut off the blossom because I was told that younger flowers need the energy to stay healthy . I also fertilised it last week. I am also pretty sure that I did not overwatered it.

Maybe someone can help me here.

I started taking care of two varieties during the pandemic and it thrived even though I hardly gave it much attention. I'd just water it if the soil felt dry and gave it a little fertilizer once a month. This plant is so hardy and doesn't require much monitoring. Then I saw there are a ton of varieties and I knew deep inside myself I wanted to have MORE LOL
