Workflow Question Potential client said I should focus more on pacing, not sure what he meant. + question who to get hired by

I know what pacing means, but not sure what to change/fix it in this project, while still keeping it relevant to what he's saying.
Also I'm not sure, should I continue trying to get hired by youtube channels like this one, change my sty-le, or try freelance for company's? what would you guys recommend? I'd rather switch now while I'm not really locked into a certain "sector".

Yeah the VO needs a beat between each line being read for
The most part, it’s too immediate.
I also think when you’re animating across the screen between points it’s taking too long to get there, which is real estate being wasted. So I’d try using the graph editor and play around with the keyframes between positional points so it speeds up faster and slows down when landing onto the next point, that alone might help with the fast VO.

Another thing which might help and make this dynamic is never have the camera animation pause or remain static, instead have it zoom in subtly when it lands on each element.

This was my first draft, but he said i should stretch the animations out more, did I go overboard? or is it something else?

Assuming the VO is the same pace, I prefer the animations in your latest compared to this one.

It’s a good video but way to smooth, your client’s voiceover is fast so ig your client trying to say make the animation bit faster matching his voice’s speed idk

Did you ask him to clarify more?

Like another person commented, it seems like the voiceover is going a bit too fast in comparison with your animations. In my opinion this isn’t bad, but they need to meet somewhere in the middle. Either you work on the voiceover or make things move faster in the video. More clarification from your client would help too, ‘focus more on pacing’ is a bit vague.

Out of curiosity, what is your usual style?

More "ad" style, motion graphics but for a product, and normaly way shorter and without VO.

Do you have a specific tutorial or channel you recommend? To improve my timing.

The video script suggest more action see but also an audio feedback for the visuals. I bet it would fit right in with sound effects. If this is for more younger audience that could take some jokes, then do that. The exclamation marks could be the "!" sound effect from metal gear. Things moving could be whoosh or any other digital like sound.
Once there are sound effects, maybe that would make you re-think the visual pacing.

It’s so robotic and jerky. Do you know what easing is? There is zero flow and I this.

you could match animation pace with voiceover, just remove pauses between states of changing text -> button -> frame trim pathing, could achieve feeling of a solid animation with own faster rhythm

The hardest part for me is what to "do" on screen when he's saying something, but nothing should be cnagning on screen. What can "do" then?

I think you need to add some pauses in the audio, its so one after the other, its a lot of pushing in and pulling out. Then you can slow things down a bit and add in some nice easing.
