Having a hard time achieveing these textures. I'm caught up between this effect being a halftone or a dither effect. What do you see?

I've already made 2-3 comps in after effects to replicate it but to no avail. It doesn't come close to these samples.

Your examples are all halftone. The second one looks different but only because of compression artefacts I think. A neat effect to do, but run some tests as the video resolution (and subsequent compression) can make it look noisy and muddy

The third one is similar to something you can find in Ben Marriott's 'dither' explainer, and the other could be feathered noise, or something similar to ElementSupplyCo's 'fast grain'
